Back to DX9 with Legacy Airport - Shimmering!

I just installed an older airport, RAF Finningley, I think it might be a FS9 retread, in DX10 the hangers are invisible. Switching to DX9 they appear, but taxi lines and runway markings are flickering and shimmering.

 

I'd rather run DX10 if poss. What should I tweak? If I have to run DX9, again, do I need my old fsx.cfg to stop the flickering??

 

One extreme possibility is to use Instant Scenery to drop in fresh RAF hangers over the top of the invisible ones ...

In dx10 Try the legacy dialog and play with the slider and tick boxes ( remembering your previous settings) to see if you can improve matters. Start by changing the setting of v2 transparency.

 

in dx9 you probably need to change your AA settings, the best option in dx9 is to force AA rather than to set it in game.
