IBuypower for new FSX build? Nice specs- reasonably priced

Recommended Posts

HI All,

MB and GPU quit on my 4 year old system so I'm ready for a new one.

Came across IBUY and can get a great FSX rig built for $1800-$1900.

That would include:

1) Case- NZXT Phantom 410 Gaming Case ( not sure about this one)
2) Mother Board -  ASRock Fatal 1TY Z97 LGA 1150
3) CPU - I7 4790k ( they will OC it to 4.4 GHZ)
4) Cooling - Corsair Hydro Series H60i Liquid cooling
5) GPU - Nvidia Geforce GTX 970 4GB PCI express 3.0
6) Ram - 8 GB (4GBx2) Corsair DDR3 2133 MHz
7) PSU - 750 W Corsair RM series power supply
8) Sound card - 7.1 High Definition integrated audio
9) Primary HD - 500 GB Samsung Evo SSD
10) Secondary HD - 500 GD WD Black 7200 RPM Sata 6.0 GB/S
11) Optical Drive - DVD/CD Burner Drive 24X

12) Media Drive - 12 in 1 Media card reader

13) OS- Windows  7 64 bit

3 year labor and 1 year parts.

Any comments on the company and specs would be much appreciated.

Has anyone every dealt with this company? If so, how has the experience been?

Thanks for your help.

Cheers,

Brian

Your good to go for fsx and xplane 10 for most part.  If the rumors are true only being 4% to 8% gain with skylake I7 6700K cpu, I just get what you have now.

It does that right out of the box on it's own.

At newegg for just those parts would be approx $1540

Less the OS?  About 100 USD for Windows these days OEM I guess.  I think it's reasonably priced... they do all the work for you.  Some peeps don't have time for a build.  I know people say it's easy but I take waay too much time when I do one...  spend a whole day setting it up.  Ugh.

Thanks all for your comments. I thought the 4790k was 4.0 out of the box and could be boosted to 4.4 by making a couple changes in the Bios. Then OCed further if one is interested. Is that not correct?

For me its worth it to have it built and the part sourced. That was its on them if something doesn't work properly and I don't have to deal with it.

The OS is included in the price.

I just what to be sure Ibuypower is a reputable organization before I do business with them. I know nothing about them.

I don't know them, to be honest.  A build does take time, but the long part is definitely the setup, testing, overclocking, applying the million Windows updates - that kind of stuff.

Parts seem pretty good.

That was including the OS. Having the shop build and test it for you is a great way to go as long as they don't charge too much for their service to do so. My point for showing the cost at newegg was strictly for retail comparison.

Did you choose the parts yourself or was this a packaged set?  If so, what's it called?

The H60 is perfect for a reasonable overclock - of course, if you want to push it significantly, it's another story, but the H60 is very silent and a breeze to install.  I like it a lot.

It's called the "Gamer Paladin D897" from Ibuypower. I customized the parts to my liking. I plan on just running the processor at 4.4 ghz. Hopefully the H60i is sufficient cooling at that speed. The H80I was not an option in the package.
