VflyteAir Arrow proportions off?

Recommended Posts

I am looking for an Arrow III and found the VflyteAir version...

Immediately the "bubble-ness" of the cockpit proportions stuck out to me; while a review noted

"VflyteAir has had full access to a real Arrow III (1977 PA28R-200 located in Texas, USA), and every nut, bolt and panel has been measured and photographed to reproduce the same aircraft in X-Plane, and that sort of minute detailing here really shows."

But again.... look at the proportions of the windows (both are 1977):

I don't have this plane, but noticed the same thing. I'm glad you notice too, I thought I was going crazy. I didn't see anyone comment on it. I was excited to see this plane released, but when I first saw the screenshots, I thought it didn't look like an arrow to me so I did not purchase.

After reading comments on the review about how accurate the visual model is, and how they had access to the real plane, I wonder how such a big error could be made and then not noticed by the reviewer either.

I hope Caranado gets around to converting their arrow to XP. I really like the arrow and would love one in X-plane but the window dimensions of this model are way off.

Is it a trick of perspective, or is the wing dihedral on the XPlane version radically different than the real-world picture?

Looks like the dihedral is just a result of "camera" angle, but I must agree, those windows are just too big.

Indeed, as the former owner/pilot of a '79 Turbo Arrow IV, I can state pretty much unequivocally the fuselage shape on this III is just wrong.  This thing looks to be shaped more like a Piper Aztec or something.
