Nice to see they are still pumping sales but to lazy to convert to FSX-SE. Actually I do believe they are the only DEV that hasn't converted yet

I don't know how you can guys can fly the Mustang and king air...  I love the KA to death but the glass just destroys my rig... argh.  If I fly anywhere except default scenery I'm under 20 fps in no time.  And stutters argh!

Still a great discount for a nice aircaft.  I think the KA is better though, more in depth systems and more G1000 features.  KA is their best aircraft to date.

Might be your video card.  I typically see 30s on the ground with the Mustang.  40s up high.  I run windowed mode with Aero enabled.

I doubt it (I'm using GTX 970)... I think it's my CPU.  My "ageing" it 2500K at ONLY 4GHz hehe.  I run windowed without aero.  Honestly the 20 fps is ok but I get terrible stutters (fps swings from 15 to 50).

Why don't you try turning aero on?  Helps a bunch on my rig.  Is there a downside?

I gave up on the KA myself, not so much for frame rate issues per say, but because of the slow refresh rate of the flight displays themselves which made flying smooth instrument approaches in IMC impossible for me.

It became a vfr-only affair for me...if I can't get 30fps gauge refresh rates I'm done for.

Oh?  I've always heard Aero hurts performance...  What do you mean by "helps a bunch?"

Well...I see 25-30% increase in frames.  In fact, when I look up and see my frames low I check to make sure I restarted Aero. Most times, that's the cause.

Try running this from a command window or batch file...

net stop uxsms
net start uxsms

You may need to run it as admin, depending on your machine configuration. My toolbar is transparent if I've restarted it.  It's crappy looking if I haven't.

Simstarter has a check box to restart Aero as well. Best piece of free software available for flight sim IMO
