Reshade is a game changer

Recommended Posts

I just found this tweak a few weeks back and have been playing around with the settings. I do have one issue that I have yet to figure out. Whenever I get the colors/atmosphere I like for the day time, the sun rise/set colors are very dull. When I get the colors I like for the sun rise/set, the day time is almost completely washed out white. I do enjoy how dark it makes it at night, much more realistic. I am just curious if anyone else has come across anything similar. I'm hoping I don't have to have two separate adjustments, depending on time of day flying.

There is my night setting. It requires the newest reshade framework found at http://reshade.me

Note: I am using a calibrated Asus PB278q. What works on my monitor may not on yours.

Thank you very much, I'll give it a test run and report back.

So I've had a play with David's settings and they definitely make a difference.  Subtle things like the amount of ambient light shown (look at the sidewall) and undercarriage lever and clipboard beneath the engine instruments) is greater than default, light spill from the clocks as well.  I probably haven't composed as good a picture, but I've tried to show side-by-side.  I suspect my 8x CSAA also detracts.  Definitely worth having a play with.

David, thanks for posting your night settings. I downloaded the file and put them all into a newly created folder inside 'ReShade\ReShade\PersonalFiles\Presets' with the profile name 'P3DNight'. However, upon selecting the profile in the 'Mediator', I get two errors. One that it couldn't find a pipeline.cfg and the other that it couldn't find a basic.cfg.

Can I just copy over those files from the 'DefaultPreset' folder and it will still read your effects or am I missing something obvious?

I'm running the latest version of ReShade (posted on their site as of August 10th).

That profile was created using an older version of reshade. They have seen restructured the file formating.

Gotcha, I'll continue tweaking the settings for a better night representation.
