Hi Tony,

Thanks for the heads-up. It does, indeed, look highly detailed. An outside view would have been nice. I am looking forward to the release.

Life was so much  calmer back then

And you just walked out to the plane, no security check nothing, very easy going lifestyle

Nowadays?  ....  well we all know, we download memories of the past eh?

Part of the reason I love taking the train across Europe. Walk on Walk off. Bliss. While the train between Amsterdam and Paris is longer then the flight, it has zero stress and it just so easy

Similarly, I take the train (w/bedroom) from Halifax to Montreal

I like being the pilot of a plane (have PPL) but not a passenger...

Given the choice of a 45 minute flight, or an 8 hour drive, I'll take the 8 hour drive :-)

It's cool that he starts off with praising the detail and free nature of the X-Plane scenery addons, namely W2XP and RTH I guess. So true!

Also nice seeing the DC-6 getting closer to release. That circuit breaker detail surely is a nice item to keep you busy.

Although it looks nice, I am not especially excited about a DC-6.  Am glad that PMDG is soon going to be in X Plane along with their other aircraft later on.

I was going to get this but I'm not sure I would use it that much. This is no reflection upon the apparent high quality, just that I prefer more modern stuff. I will be 1st in the queue however for an X-Plane version of their 737 NG !

And with all the security, early check ins, delays etc etc, you'll still get there faster by car

Lookin' good. I just hope this model has a reduced-workload option of some kind, maybe with more relaxed failure modes for engine controls? The real thing was never designed to be operated by one person, after all.

There should be all the complexity needed for those who want to dive into it, but they'll sell more of this model to existing X-Plane market if it's flyable at some reduced realism level, as an option.

Still use it for cross-continental flights (TO>VR)
