BBS A330/A340 Screenies

Recommended Posts

I've been getting into the Black Box Simulations A330 and A340 addon in it's latest version (0.81.5)... The developer has a bit of a history and the addon was mediocre at best in it's earlier versions. But it's pretty damn satisfying right now in P3D V2.5...

Here are some shots from random flights.

Thanks guys, glad you liked them.

And as mentioned, no WX radar in this one (don't know if it's a planned feature either). It's pretty decent in my opinion now though, so if you really want an A330 or A340, it might be the one for you.

This almost makes me wanna find my download link and give it another try. My faith in this duo has been dwindling by the month and, history aside, I'm almost just wondering if 2 guys in Malta without any real or material connection to Airbus can finish this job. But hey, apparently the Aerosoft (or DA, rather) CRJ is being done by one guy alone so who knows...

Haha, just in case, I will clarify "pretty decent"...

I was able to get it running from cold & dark by pressing the buttons and switches you expect to need to press. I was able to program the FMGS in the way I was expecting, though it's not full-depth sim stuff. The aircraft was then pleasant to taxi with the tiller, the displays looked good, handling on takeoff felt believable and after that the autoflight system performed as I was expecting it to do. No strange missed turns or deviations off course etc.

It is not up there with PMDG naturally, but for my personal kind of use, it was quite adequate and satisfying. I just love the A330 and A340 as planes as well, so at the moment I'd say it's a pretty decent addon ;)

I got it a while ago. Definitly improved with the latest version. What it badly needs now is the FMC rewrite which is very basic. When that gets done, it will be a whole lot better. But as mentioned it flys pretty good now.

Lookin good mate!  Seems strange seeing the wing shots as compared to what I usually post because you don't see a whole lot of A3/A4 pix period

Absolutely, that's why it's so nice to have these two come along and finally be somewhat decent :).

Can't speak for the OP but I'm surprised at the positivity of this thread: I think we can all agree how badly proper widebody Airbuses are needed. Maybe that desperation has kept me from being one of the BBS naysayers but, then again, I have little clue and no experience with these guys and their past dealings...

By the way, the screenies are really good. FT Dubai is simply a masterpiece. And why won't anyone redo NZAA?? The "upgraded" NZAA that comes with ORBX NZNI is certainly fine (and, to be honest, the only stock airport that I use) but I can't believe no one has come in and redone it...

ORBX are actually working on NZAA again apparently.
