Can FS2002 Landclass be used in FS2004?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,Hopefully a quick question. I just started flying in the Southern CA area, and read that Matt Fox's California landclass was very good... but noticed that it was designed for FS2002 and did not see an FS2004 update. Can it be used well in FS2004? Or is there a better freeware (or payware) alternative available? Not really into MegaScenery though, I fly low and slow and feel their textures don't come alive until you're up at altitude. Thanks for any advice,Joel

If you fly low and slow, I definately suggest you buy Ultimate Terrain USA. There is also a series of sceneries for central California by Al Wheeler that you probably also want to get here at Avsim. I don't fly much in CA, so I can't say how good or bad it is. But it is very popular and has been around for awhile with many updates, so I bet it is good.As to your question - I don't know. I know you can use FS2K mesh, and I believe you can also use FS2k Landclass. Doesn't hurt to try it.Thomas

Some FS2002 landclass works OK in FS9, some doesn't and may even cause a CTD (such as Ray Taburet's UK landclass, for example). I use Justin Tyme's beta landclass for the whole of the USA, which was freeware.MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a]
