  1. You might be the center of the hockey hall of fame, but the center of the hockey universe belongs to another O6 team you lost to this week!
  2. Besides a second monitor (which I highly recommend) you can get "Windows Power Toys" and use that to make windows sit on top when un-selected. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/powertoys/always-on-top
  3. Agreed, I have been watching this and posted on another topic in the larger Beta forum but did not see this page with a survey. Thank you for sharing!
  4. Beta's are things we, as a group, test for deployment to a larger group. Right now MS is handing out poorly vetted ALPHAs and asking us to do QA for free. I get it, this is 100% optional and not required, but it's getting tough to want to test these things when they introduce clear performance issues that move backwards.
  5. I second this question! I have tried all settings from LOW to ULTRA on texture resolution in DX12 and this error will not go away for even a single flight. The only known fix is to go to DX11 but then I lose Frame Generation so it kinda defeats the purpose of an Nvidia 4 series card in the rig.
  6. 1) I know it's Beta - I've rolled back. I was hoping to have some fixes to the 787. Instead, I got terrible performance. 2) Constantly (for three years) the betas have TONS of things that break and one (787 in this case) that isn't broken? Then the "release" comes and many of the broken things people care about (DX12 anyone) still have the same issue or new ones. Can they maybe break the cycle a bit and have an "aircraft" beta and a "core" beta or not put 1000 things into big bulk updates - I'm not an MS developer so I can't speak to their limitations but it's pretty poor for customers/testers alike. Some will say "AAU updates" vs "World Updates" - this is not AAU, but it fixes tons of issues on the 787. I have a large love/hate relationship with this product. I've owned it since day one and it does a lot of things great, but so many things still suck three years later, and MS is ready to roll onto the next big thing.
  7. I was really looking forward to this Beta this past weekend for the fantastic 787-10 changes (WT for the win!), but the performance is terrible. Why does MSFS consistently go 2 steps forward and 20 steps backward whenever there is the slightest optional or mandatory update?
  8. I can't speak to all of these, but for glideslope intercept, I've realized that the best way to intercept on this particular model (but not the built-in 787-10) is to leave a VNAV decent "early" and use an FLCH descent to the GS intercept altitude rather than to rely on VNAV for a full top-to-bottom descent directly into the GP. The actual airplane can handle VNAV descents effortlessly, so it is a simulation limitation (or maybe a limitation between the MS -10 and the systems that the Kuro -8 inherits). Besides that, I have had some fantastic flights in the -8 and can't wait to see it grow and eventually get deeper systems like fire suppression/proper engine out. But for now, it is the top long hauler in my hangar and will be for some time!
  9. yes, and then turning Bing back on takes quite a long time, and maybe it sits on, or turns off again a few minutes later. It is very frustrating. It could be my ISP throttling but I am still trying to find more evidence to prove that. I see some improvements using Private Internet Access (PIA) VPN but a very hefty price in overall bandwidth. I'm on 400/40Mbps from my Coaxial ISP and overall speeds drop by approx. 50% with PIA connected to the nearest PoP geographically, and the lowest latency PoP which is technically a bit further away as the bids fly (and the location name they provide). Having PIA up is a low-level workaround but the high latency/performance costs make it sub-optimal in my mind.
  10. I also saw the "Switching to Offline" alert multiple times between 8AM-12PM ET today. In the past few weeks I have seen these alerts far more often overall. I thought it was a local/ISP issue on my end but I am starting to think MS/Azure are having some sort of latency or overall connection issue within their networks. It kills the immersion (and overall enjoyability) level of MSFS so much...
  11. I recently completed the build in my signature and went for the Samsung Neo G7 43" display on DP 2.1 @120Hz. Coming off an older 100HZ Ultra-wide 34" from Spectre the difference is astounding. I already had the 4080 in the previous build so I did get to take advantage of the FG at sub 4k resolutions (but an i9 9900k). On the new G7, at 4K and HDR, it's a game changer! Some of that is CPU related, but I have never seen the sim look so vibrant. It is GSync compatible as I could not find anything sub $1000 that was GSync native at this size. The GSync compatibility has been fine so far and overall I am happy with the new build, but especially the monitor. It regularly goes on sale for $700-800 so the only caveat is to not buy at the full MSRP of $999. I also spent as much time researching my PC build as I did on monitor selection so I feel you there!
  12. Anyone have a fix/updates around a fix for DX12 and Bloom on? I still see this white "flash" issue with Bloom on. I hate having to turn Bloom off as it looks so much nicer (especially around sunrise/sunset).
  13. I will compete a full flight later tonight but on a quick load-in I see no issues with Frame Generation on a RTX4080 driver 528.02. In the FBW A320 Panning in the outside/drone or in the cockpit I am seeing the regular Frame Generation on 100Hz display.
  14. I have had to do this a number of times but never on the same flight i.e. - I did it once at MCO while parked, ran the "fix" and was fine on the taxi across the airport from AS2 to 18L. If I turn around and go back to MCO right now I would probably be okay. If I restart the the simulator and go back to MCO it could be fine, or I may see some squares of Bing maps data breaking through the airport model and need to do the settings off/on change again.
