  1. 40 USD includes a full cockpit which looks pretty good. This looks comparable to Carenado level product - not a bad thing if you're looking to buzz the skies with a classic C130. edit: I don't see anything about sounds... so they're probably using king air sounds which wouldn't be a good fit. https://captainsim.net/products/m130/m133/
  2. It's because there are likely a bunch of newer (younger) people coming into the genre and they probably can't afford the 50 USD addons. They're used to 5 dollar dlc on mobile apps or fornite. And post covid everyone is feeling the effects of inflation.
  3. I'm going poor with flightsim addons haha! Sweet plane!
  4. You took a screenshot of cloud tops with AS though. Your real pic (bottom of the clouds) looks like a stratus layer. The tops of the AS appear to be a realistic overcast stratus layer.
  5. You're joking right? METAR is typically a very reliable snapshot of the weather where you'll depart or land... you know... those important phases of flight.. or where you have to divert because a speci just came out and now your destination is below minimums.
  6. I 100% disagree. I'm an ATC and previously worked at two towers for over a decade. I was a certified weather observer with the NWS, and used that certification daily in the tower. One tower I worked at had an ASOS and then we augmented that occasionally with NWS employees as well. All that was broadcast over ATIS. The other tower did not have NWS employees but instead we augmented the ASOS directly, and accurately. Part of my simming fun includes shooting IAP's at airports with specific weather (most of this poor wx was found looking at METARs). Where I worked (midwest of the USA), the metar and associated SPECI, are VERY accurate. If the field was OVC002 - pilots weren't breaking out till right at minimums. PIREPs were frequently agreeing with the ATIS ceiling and visibility readout. I do agree if you find yourself at a tiny field with an AWOS machine, it may only update once per hour and in that case, yes the weather could be quite different. But at large facilities (where most simmers tend to fly - big class B airports in the US or large airports elsewhere in the world), the weather reporting systems are very accurate, and a speci can be issued every 5 min - and will be reflected on the ATIS. My experience with meteoblue is that it's mediocre... it can be good for predicting large weather patterns/systems, but at least in the USA, can be quite out of date... sometimes I've watched a system on nexrad and compare to the sim... 4 hours+ old at times... That annoys me big time! I will agree though that popping weather in and out is a big killer of immersion. I hope that FS 2024 can address this and include both systems, Also... let's get some cirrus clouds please!
  7. I picked it up as well... probably do a screenshot review hehe... overall I really like it. Just a heads up, the PMS and TDS GTNs aren't connected to the CDI (the old school localizer instrument) - you can tune NAV1 radios with the GPS units but you can't fly a GPS track atm (nor can you fly an RNAV approach with vertical mins and get a glide path). I've raised the issue in their discord and hope it can be changed. ils11PWM by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr 650xi by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr
  8. It's good during approach and stuff... you don't always fly an instrument approach do you? I guess I'm not familiar with UK's ATC - do they allow visual approaches?
  9. Overall I feel the yaw issues are mostly fixed. I was able to land in a stiff crosswind with proper technique. The aircraft is lot heavier feeling now though... the roll rate is quite slow especially when slow... and that may be realistic I'm not sure. I still need quite a bit of rudder input during a coordinated 25 degree bank.
  10. I also use it. Excellent mod. And also kind of important for us VR users to access features and functions. While in 2D I don't use it as much.
  11. I always love a nice PNW post! I had forgotten about that ole paint! Great pics!
  12. Thanks! Appreciate your comments Thanks Tim. It's a lovely area to explore I had to look it up - looks like I flew near it but missed a pic!
  13. Nice views of the Phoenix area! Who makes this addon?
