  1. Then you were not paying very good attention, because some of us did our best to let people here know of the state of this sim, as best we could within the NDA (I may have even cracked the NDA a bit, but I wanted people here to know the truth). On July 18th (a month before release) I posted:
  2. He;icopters will be amazing with MSFS 2020 scenery! But I can wait until Asobo can take the time to do them right. Until then I'm pretty happy flying the PiperCessna 152 and the 2 Cubs for short dirt/grass runways (I LOVE the Savage Cub).
  3. Viz, this is what I posted originally (bold added for clarification): "I think too many are expecting too much from this new sim at release . . . on day 1. The thing is, we're barely in Beta and there are still some rough edges that need to be ironed out. Too many here are pushing tor VR, or seasons, or helicopters, or advanced ATC, when things like basic flight dynamics are still being tweaked at every build. What Asobo has done so far is amazing! But they need to remain focused on the basic core sim before working on any of the extras. Eventually I expect that all the things on the wish list will be added, but don't expect them on August 18th." I was clear from the start the this was and is my opinion (the "I think" part) I was clear that I was talking about what is initially released ("on day 1" & "don't expect them on August 18th.") This is a fact: "there are still some rough edges that need to be ironed out" Also a fact: "things like basic flight dynamics are still being tweaked at every build" I'm not against them eventually adding all the items on the wish list (what I called the extras), The "core sim" is what I define as what we have right now (in the Beta).
  4. I know that. I was just replying to Viz, who brought up the roadmap. My original post wasn't directed at anyone specific. But I have seen way too many (on this and on the official MSFS forum) puching way too much for extra features when some core parts of the sim are still being worked on.
  5. None of the items that I mentioned in my post [VR, or seasons, or helicopters, or advanced ATC] are on their roadmap. Latest Development Roadmap

  7. As an Alpha Tester I can confirm no, to at least one of those. 😉
  8. It has always worked great for me, but others have had problems with G-sync. Perhaps it is their monitor or settings. I have an Acer Predator XB271HU 144Hz. I'd recommend going into your NNNvidia control panel and making sure the your G-sync is set to "Enable for full screen mode", as setting to both windowed and full screen don't always work well.
  9. Flying (and especially landing) with a decent and smooth frame rate is even more important to me. When I needed to replace my old monitor I bought a G-Sync one (which works fantastically with MSFS). I've never used a yoke before, as I prefer a HOTAS joystick/throttle. But I do own a very good set of pedals which really improves flight control (especially when flying helicopters). If I was to purchase a yoke, it would be the "Honeycomb Alpha Flight Controls Yoke and Switch Panel", which you can pick up for about $250.
  10. I was able to compress a 35 second portion of my 1440p original takeoff from a remote Idaho strip to 720p, which I was able to add on the Apha Testers forum. The quality is not great, but it gives you some idea of what bush vlying in this new sim is like. Perhaps I'll win the video lottery. But after today's shocker release date disclosure, I'd be surprised if anyone still cares about a short low quallity video. But, hey, I kept my word and tried my best.
  11. I'm going to submit what I can for a video, but Abslo has to select it. I downloaded Handbrake an will give it a go in a day or so.
  12. I was planning to submit my video to the official forums, but it is wayyyy too large. So I made a much shorter video of just a landing on a remote dirt strip in the Idaho mountains this morning, but it is still way to big. [We are restricted to a very small file size]; perhaps I can find a video compression tool and try again, I'm just afraid that the quallity will be pretty bad compared to my 1440x2560 captured video. I did submit screenshots of this flight (and other bush flying ones), but I never seem to win the screeshot lottery.
  13. Exactly! I've done my share of winks here, while I've tried really hard to be discrete and not actually leak anything specific that has not already been shown by the developers. My biggest wink to date has been that I'm pretty happy at how well the sim runs on my older PC (I just wanted to let others here know that they might want to try the sim before spending a lot on upgrading/purchasing). I had been experiencing a major bug that was making it nearly impossible to fly, so I hadn't been able to do much testing for awhile. But I finally figured out how to fix the problem late last night and then had my best flying experience to date. I would love to share the video I made of that flight, bush flying in the Utah mountains . . . which was so very challenging. but so much fun! [You're going to love this!].
  14. Track Ir is not even implimented yet for this sim. I would think that it would be much simpier to add support for Track IR than for VR, so I would expect/hope that we would see that first.
  15. Don't believe everything some supposed Alpha tester [or disgruntled tester) puts on the web. I'm an Alpha tester and I own X-plane 11 (stated with x-plane 8), P3D v4 (with a ton of Orbx scenery and Active Sky), MSFSX (I started with the floppy disk version), and DCS. I decided not to upgrade to P3D to v.5 because of MSFS 2020 and I don't plan on ever going back to X-plane again..
