  1. I agree. I also hoped for some tropical waters with reef visible, those light blue lagoons etc. I still hope it will come later.
  2. It seems that Auxiliary pump switch is called 'Emergency Hyd Pump'. It's logical after you read what manual says about this pump: "An electrically driven auxiliary hydraulic pump, mounted in the hydraulic accessories compartment, provides an emergency source of pressure." It's the switch under flaps lever, secured with the red guard. I'm not sure if it has any label, but if it has it is hard to see it.
  3. In my opinion there is nothing to be scared of. You just have to understand how it works, and it's not a problem at all. If you have to cool down the engine after unsuccessful, there is a ventilation procedure to speed it up. And the plane is very good, nice to hand fly. I like it a lot. Pawel
  4. Are there any changes in WX Interpolation logic in AS2012? Now it's the only thing that I find sometimes working incorrectly.
  5. Hi, I have a strange problem after loading my saved flight.I saved while cruising at fl340, with LNAV and VNAV engaged. AP, AT on. All normal. After reloading flight two days after I noticed that on ND there is no magenta line between waypoints, and on LEGS page in CDU there is "BYPASS" showing after each point.I tried going direct to my present target waypoint (selecting it and entering in first line again) - it removes all bypass'es and connects all waypoints on ND, but it also removes all speeds and altitudes from all wp's - so just after that vnav disconnects.I tried to change cruise fl in CRZ page, but when I enter it sim freezes and needs to be restarted (whole FSX doesn't respond). I tried restarting my PC, but everything happens in the same way, so it seems to be replacable. I have not observe any freezes before - everything has worked always fine. I also used saving/loading quite many times with no problems at all. Fantastic plane. My pc: AMD Pnenom II x4 3.0GHz, 4GB ram, GF460gtx, Win7 eng 64bit.I also use ASE, REX, UEX, GEX Europe.
  6. Actually this is quite good comparison. Maybe in VC the view "looks" more natural, especially on wide screen and perhaps with TIR, but working on flight management in 2d panel is much more close to reality than in vc. You don't have to use any device to move your view. You just move your eyes and change focus a little bit, still having in control main displays and forward outside view. In VC you loose for some time a view of those crucial elements. It's not present in real aircraft.
  7. Thanks for all replays.I stated I was trying to think in positive way, and I think I can be successful :) After first flights I'm getting to feel more and more comfortable in VC. I'm actually in good situation, because I have second monitor, so I can open 2d MCP adn cdu.The vc in this bird is really of such high quality, that it's a sin not to try to switch to it. Maybe I'd try Ezdok, as many users share such good opinions about it, but spending another 34$ is not what I intended to do :). Still three questions:- general about vc: can I change my default view (for ex. when I pres ctrl+space) to look down to show displays (without ezdok)?- can it be done in ezdok, or defining such view and accessing it with one key press?- about ezdok - do I have to run it separately, or it's automatically active after fsx start? PS. This bird is just fantastic. Incredible feeling when flying it. I'm not talking about system simulation, but just how realistic it feels... I'm delighted.
  8. How do I press space, move mouse, use MCP and hand fly at the same time? Now I open MCP 2d panel, but it uses screen space. It would be no issue in 2d panel.
  9. I'm one of those 2D user, that found out that there is no 4:3 2 panel. But I would like to think in positive way and as someone suggested try to switch to VC only. So I have some questions about it, ask you how you perform some tasks, as I'm used to using 2d and for now I find using vc quite inconvenient. So, my questions:- how do you switch view to see overhead or radios? I can press "A" several times, but often I want to do it fast, so I would like to have a key assigned to switch directly to them. I can use Shift + number to access 2d, but it's for wide screen only and it's hardly readable on 4:3.- How do you use MCP in VC? It's not visible when looking forward. For example when I hand fly approach and I want to use AT to menage speed, and I want to change my speed on MCP... I still have to look forward and also see my main displays.Any ideas?- How can I make my default view to "look" down so I'm able to see main displays?- Any other suggestions? Maybe someone using vc only on a 4:3 screen would share his experience? I don't want to use any TrackIR device, or pay for additional software like EZdok. --------------------------------Pawel Dragan
  10. Brian,I think we are on the same page when talking about "as real as it gets". I'm aware of RVSM rules and take them into account during planning my flights.I wanted to have some reference about optimal (or maybe word "optimum" should be used ..?) and max flight levels depending on GW - to be able better choose FL when FL change is required by RVSM rules, to be able to calculate step climbs for longer flights, and to be sure not to make flight plan above limits.Anyway, I spent some time with FMS and produced some chart that I think can be helpfull. Please find it attached. It should be used only as rought reference (maybe some more factors, like for ex. CG, can affect the numbers), but yesterday I menaged to plan 2000nm flight with step climb, and all worked fine - I was able to plan and then perform my step climb at correct point.Pawel
  11. Thanks to everyone for interest and some ideas.I do use Tomcat, but I don't think it can calculate optimum flight level for cruise.I also don't have any airport around with MD-11 (I have EPGD a few miles from here, but md-11 don't come to us very often). What I'm gonna do is play more with load manager and FMS. I'll try to make tables of optimum flight level depending from fuel load for three passangers loads (those standard ones: 1/3, 2/3 and full). I'll see if it makes any sense then.I'll shere results with you.Regards,Pawel Dragan
  12. Hi,Just starting my adventure with this bird. Fantastic aircraft from PMDG.I did some first flights, still learning. My question is about debriefing - how can I calculate optimal Flight Level for particular loud?I assume trip long enough so that we are not limited by short distance.I know I can see it on CDU after Weight Init, but I think it's more realistic to put it to flight plan before we get into cockpit. I always do it for other a/c.I thought it was function of gross weight, but when I started to play with different combinations of fuel and pax loads, I don't get "stright" results from FMS, so probably CG matters, or maybe some other factors should be taken into account.Any advise about it?Edit: sorry, mistake in topic, it should be Flight level.Sorry also for my english and other mistakes.--------------------Pawel Dragan
  13. Richard,I downloaded your checklist and it seems very well done and clear. I think it should be best choice for people starting their fs2crew voice adventure. Thanks for your work.Pawel
  14. I can imagine that, but... what for? :)Congrats for good review.Pawel
  15. Chriz did very good job, thanks for that. But still I wanted to have 'my style' checklists and flows, so I made them. Please find them attached. They are based mostly on FS2crew manual, PMDG checklists, and Chriz's work referenced too. I hope it's not a problem (any permissions or copyrights).Let me know by PM if you find any mistakes or errors, or maybe you have some suggestions. What you can say or call is in blue.Checklists and "things to do" are in black.Comments, explanations, some FO calls are dark red.Marshaller comunications are green. My intension was to make it easy readable when printed 2 pages on one A4 or letter paper.I hope you like it.Regards,Pawel
