I don't know why but with fiber_frame... set to 0.1, I get much better fps. I let the sim configure a new fsx.cfg and the following configuration works, aparat from the tearing, perfectly fine. Hello Jim Thanks for the quick reply. Yes I know this, that's the way I was able to fix the problem on the EKCH flight. But that's not the problem I have now (see the screenshots). It's kind of a terrain mess.

Hey guys A few weeks ago I bought a new rig to be able to run FSX smoothly. The system (i7 3770k 3.5GHz, 16GB RAM, EVGA GTX680 2GB, Samsung SSD for W7 64bit and aWD Caviar black for FSX) is ok but I remarked some strange terrain problems (see screenshots below). Last time I had this problem I was able to fix it by deleting the FSX.cfg and let the system renew one. But then I had to add my tweaks (like HIGHMEMFIX and LOD_RADIUS) and accept all the gauges again which was rather annoying. At the moment I have the following addons installed: FSXacc, MyTraffic 2013, UTX Europe, UTX USA, UTX Canada, GEX Europe, GEX North America, GEX Africa/Middle East, GEX Tropics, Switzerland Professional, Wilco Airbus Evolution, QW ARJ and of course some airport sceneries. Maybe I should mention that I remarked strange terrain behaviour when I last flew to EKCH. The ocean was full of land tiles. I could fix this by doing a change in the UTX setting and let the FSX refresh it's scenery database. When I set an altitude of for example FL300, everyhing looks fine. Ok I would like to try to OC the CPU to about 4.4. GHz, stepwise of course. Is there a easy step by step guidance for a newbie like me. I've never done something like this. CPU is the i7 3770k.

Thank you very much for all your advices! At the moment, FSX is running perfectly fine at 30fps at most of the airports (100% Traffic, REX, GEX, UTX and so on..). Only on big airports I get "only" about 24 to 27fps. I'm pretty happy now :) As I'm not already really familiar with FSX (been using FS9 for 8 years) I have another question about the graphics: When approaching a detailed add-on airport (such as Bari), my screen rarely gets black for about 1 frame (1/30 second). Possibly it's just when the graphics get loaded, but back in FS9 I noticed this as a fex tiles that were reloading and not the whole screen. It's not really annoying, I am just wondering if this is a normal FSX behaviour. I checked the temperature of my GTX680 which is always around 65°C. Maybe it could also be the driver. Best regards

I wanted to overclock the CPU at first, but then I heared that this would drastically reduce the lifetime of all components. I will test a few weeks at the original clocking frequency.

What the hell :lol: I have no idea what I just did (well, I tweaked the fsx.cfg and the changed the setting in nVidia Inspector) and it looks just a 100 times better! Thank you so much guys!

Hello altogether. After having bought a new computer, I wanted to return to the virtual skies and now I'm back to business :) For the first time I use FSX instead of FS9. Here are my specs: i7 3770k @3,5GHz (Turboboost up to 3,9GHz) with Coolermaster watercooling, 16GB RAM, GTX 680 2GB GPU, SSD for the OS and a WD Caviar black 1TB for the FSX. I installed several basic addons such as UTX, Landclass and GEX and defragmented the HD after every installation with UltimateDefrag 4. First I thought, that GEX would not be correctly installed as I saw no difference between default textures and GEX, but then I compared my sim to the screenshots of GEX and had to determine that all my ground textures look like a brown soup: I tried several tweaks, for example LOD-Radius. When I increased this one to 8.50, the textures were better, but as soon as I changed my heading the sim was stuttering (locked at 50fps). No mattet what I try, I can't get my system to look like the following screenshot: As my system is rather high-end, I don't think it's a lack of performance.
