  1. Hi, since my local airfield LIBL wasn't present I decided to at least create a rought first version for FSX using ADE. The placement of the runway and apron went very well, but the stock buildings I placed do not show up. I am using the Prepar3d 1.4 SDK with FSX-SE, which should be compatible, and have checked that my scenery detail settings are equal or larger than those specified for the objects in ADE. Here my project file: could anyone please take a look and see if there's something obvious missing?
  2. It's the right choice, all would have done the same! Thanks for your work on RC!
  3. Regarding Radar Contact, the FIX page comes in handy: RC will ALWAYS want you at 11000/12000 feet 40nm from your destination. You can go in the FIX page, and, assuming you're flying to KSEA, create a new fix at KSEA. Then insert /40 on the second line: this will create a 40nm wide ring around your destination airport, which will be visible in the ND. You'll also see that the very moment you get into the circle, you will be handed off to approach by RC.
  4. Hello, I've got a strange request/proposal: maybe as a tribute to FSX, would anyone be interested in recreating the default liveries? If not, I might try my hand at it after the exams.
  5. Open the main REX program (where you also configure the various options and themes). There should be a "weather" tab, where you can input the ICAO code of an airport and obtain various data, like winds at different altitudes.
  6. Look in the PMDG settings in the CDU. Under "simulation", I believe, is a setting named similar to "manual throttle override". Set it to NEVER. What this does is give priority to your hardware throttle(s) if they are moved. The problem is, many throttles suffer from a slight jittering, which makes the NGX think they were moved, thus disarming the AT, when in fact they were not.
  7. If you roll your MCP altitude above the programmed cruise altitude, the new altitude will be pre-entered in the CDU scratchpad, making it faster to enter it in the cruise page. :)
  8. You'll need to learn how to operate the FMC at least to input your flightplan, which isn't automatically loaded. Try to fly the tutorial, it might seem overwhelming at first, but it's very doable and understandable! :) Cheers, Fabrizio
  9. If possible check if there's a significant dust build-up inside your machine. Once I had a very similar problem due to this issue. The power spike option is relatively unlikely, but definitely possible.
  10. The best thing you could do is divide the flight in two legs, plan them in advance in FSX, fly the first one, and, while landed at the refueling stop, load the second flightplan from the menu (File--->Flight planning...)
  11. Go here: https://microsoftflight.com/it-it/home/ and, on the bottom, click on "contacts". Can't post a direct link because it would auto-link me to the Italian page.
  12. I didn't pay much attention, but there SHOULD have been a screen during the installation process where it asked where to install the program. If you need it there, repeat the installation, going slowly through each screen.
  13. Indeed! This way all other Windows Live games titles, if any, will install in the specified directory. However it is also possible to select the directory before the installation.
  14. Thanks for the read, and I agree, should you not make it as a pilot, you have a great back-up career as a writer! I know I wouldn't be able to write such an Article!Of course, well done to Rónán for making this happen!
  15. Those are not my settings, just a picture I found. Just wanted to show which setting I mean. Disregard the other ones. :)
