  1. Thanks Paul. Good to go now. Steve: General10.fx was 24kb and rain.fx was 3kb
  2. My General Shader and Rain Shader are un-checkable. I was previously running the old 3.2.2 fixes. I've made innumerable changes to FSX over the years so I may have changed a texture file or something somewhere somehow. I attempted to fix by uninstalling DX10 Controller, replacing the stock shader, and reinstalling to no avail. Not sure what to try next. Any help is appreciated.
  3. I have Aerosoft PANC Anchorage and PAFA Fairbanks. In my brief experiment if you check the Enable DX10 in the Aerosoft airport tool, there won't be any problems. I had it set on DX9 first and there were some white vehicles at night but after switching it to DX10 in the tool, all looks as it should.
  4. So are all Aerosoft airports working now? Wondering about PANC Anchorage.
  5. Don't enter the ILS manually into the FMC; it will do it automatically.
  6. how to make long flights more exciting? Don't load enough fuel for the trip.
  7. I don't know how much of a difference going to a 42" will make but it isn't likely to be very dramatic. The problem is due to spreading the same number of pixels over a larger screen. A 1080p resolution in a 24" monitor means the pixels (dots) are small and very close together. The same 1080p in a 42" screen mean the same number of pixels that fill in the screen are larger and further apart. A higher antialiasing can help but I have never got my 32" TV to be as sharp as my old 24" monitor. It's a sacrifice I'm willing to put up with for the larger screen immersion.
  8. In my experience I've had the best luck with DVI to HDMI for your TV. You should research how well that card can handle three monitors before making the plunge as that would be a combined 5760x1080 resolution. Plus you mention keeping the 24" for the gauges You could get a newer more powerful card for the 3 TV's and keep that vid card for the 24" monitor. FYI, newer cards come with HDMI ports. Glad you're enjoying the new view, really changes things doesn't it!
  9. The size of the monitor doesn't matter, it's the resolution. 1920x1080 won't stress your card very much. With bigger monitors you'll need a higher AA and to sit a bit further back. Although not a big of a deal as it was originally, plasma's are more susceptible to "burn in" if the same image is left on-screen for too long.
  10. I have Aerosoft PANC and PAFA and would get black textures and taxiways at night in DX10. With the most recent shader release all the textures now show up except the taxi lines. Also, Aerosoft airports setup has a DX10 "day only" option which I left unchecked. I'll test it one of these days... All in all very happy with these DX10 fixes! Keep em coming!!
  11. I have such a love-hate relationship with ENB. Some of the ones I've downloaded from the REX or ORBX websites don't work at all and crash right away. Some versions will work fine with light addon planes and I can minimize from fullscreen back and forth all day. The same version will work with heavy addons like PMDG but will crash randomly and don't even try to minimize... I can get rather frustrated with it from time to time and just remove it. I like it best for darker nights. :)
  12. there's your problem. a 720p 32" tv will have pixelation. No way around it. No fix for it. If you want to use a TV as a monitor and have it look good the only solution I'm afraid is a 1080p (1920x1080).
