  1. Disregard JanKees, Looking at my other repaints and photo's on the net, it seems that different squadrons had different "rules" as far as squadron codes were concerned. Just about any combination that you can think of were applied.
  2. Hi JanKees, looking at the photos the sqaudron code (DW) is shown under the cockpit so the front of the aircraft. It's caught me out a few times painting the Spit.
  3. Wouldn't that be Solyent Brown ??
  4. Regarding the B52, this clip from "Only fools and horses" explains a lot :
  5. @Larry, The reason I was repeatedly "hacked" was a failure on my part to read completely what Steam mentioned in the mails I recieved from them. My Gmail account had been compromised, something I had not realised until my FaceBook account was blocked as well. The first time I tried to retrieve my Steam account the email was sent to the "new" owner. Having a second option (phone) is not something I ever used and if they could change the email address then changing the contact number would be easy for them as well. It was only when I contacted Steam directly that I was able to do anything about it, there again you've already gone through all this yourself. Since then (Nov last year) haven't been hacked (yet). I have never used "123456" or "password" as a password but obviously not complicated enough !! Since then I have made sure that any "important" internet connections have new passwords using upper and lowercase letters, symbols etc. and more than 12 characters long. More of a pain to remember (though FireFox stores them) but now have them on paper as well (not in a document on the PC). John
  6. @Larry, Had the very same experience with Steam (3 times in the space of a week - 7 in total). I was able (eventually) to have it all restored with proof of purchase. In the end it was my gmail account that had been "compromised" which also resulted in being locked out of my FaceBook page as well. Result, spending a while changing all passwords (where possible) and creating a new email account (just) for Steam. As others have mentioned the "people" who hack a Steam account do not really get anything out of it, just create a lot of work for the real owner to get back what is rightfully theirs. John
  7. @martin-w Think you will find he was a Navy pilot (Fleet Air Arm) as his rank was Sub Lieutenant. The RAF at the time had the Harrier GR3. It was much later that the Navy & RAF began using the same aircraft type and the "Sea Harrier" was phased out. John
  8. Strange how the "report" states that the Harrier is "F35 like", surely that should be that an F35 is "Harrier like" as the F35 was not even being thought of back in 1983 (this should be 1982 as from what I remember this occured during the Falklans conflict), plus ofcourse, not all F35's are VTOL.
  9. @Martin That's why in the past with HP the printer head was ON the cartridge, so every time you put a new cartridge in the printer a new head was installed. My only question to them was why I couldn't repair my printer or have it repaired by HP themselves (my right to repair ?). I always bought the "original" ink and was "rewarded" every time I used the printer with a pop-up informing me that I could claim a reward for doing so. John
  10. And there was me trying to be diplomatic by not mentioning the brand of printer ! For a full disclosure it was HP and used it mainly for printing photographs, so was not used every day. My comment had more to do with the fact that HP simply stated that the printer heads were not available as parts for repair and that the solution was to by another printer from them (at full cost). Needless to say I did not take them up on their "generous"offer but still had to buy another HP printer just so that I could use the cartridges I'd already bought. When this printer stops "working", will be looking for another brand. From what I know don't laser printers print only in black & white ? If they are able to print colour what would such a machine cost ? Never mind just did a quick search and they do print colour- makes them quite expensive though.
  11. I was waiting before someone mentioned printers. I had a printer that suddenly would not print anymore. Always used the "original" brand (otherwise constant pop-up messages). The problem was that the printer heads were "broken". This particular brand previously had the printer heads attatched to the cartridge so that with each new cartridge you had a new printer head. At the time the printer heads stopped working I had just purchased a complete new set of cartridges costing some €80. As the printer now no longer worked they were a very expensive paperweight. After contacting the manufacturer they informed me that no replacement parts were available and could not be repaired. My only solution was to buy a new printer of the same type (so that I could use the cartridges that I bought) costing (would you believe it) €50 ! Needless to say this will be the last printer I buy from this brand.
  12. Disregard my previous post, I forget to set the layers properly for the registration to show correctly. Link and new version sent with a PM. Just reminds me what a worthless model was to paint with!! John
  13. @jchpa, Sent you a personal message. Let me know when you have downloaded and installed them (space is limited on my DropBox account). John
  14. Looking at the Blue livery (N399CK), it does seem that it could be slightly larger. Will get back to you later.
