  1. Hello Rafal,I tried the ENB series last night, using Pablo's ini (the one in the main HDE folder, not the one in the ENB archive). I did not experience any glitches or notice any frame drop, and I like the ambience it adds. I also like that it can easily be switched on and off using the 'Shift-F12' combination.. hope I'm not stating the obvious, but perhaps there is another device or software which utilizes a function having the same key-combo? For example, I had to ensure that my screenshot proggie and Track IR were not using any duplicate or conflicting key-combos. May also be a duplicate Shift-F12 combo mapped to your controller?Hope you get it sorted ~ Rudi
  2. Installed the textures last night; was skeptical at first, but once I saw them 'in-sim'.. Wow! They're not just for screenshots!Absolutely beautiful work Pablo; thank you so much for sharing your talent.Cheers! ~ Rudi
  3. Here are a few more excellent offerings:Orbx Pacific Northwest and Tasmania demosStriking Software FSCW Water Configurator .. also be sure to check their forum in the PW Sceneries section for some great Carribean scenery. LiveATC.net hosts downloadable mp3 ATC recordings in their archives from several airports throughout the world, which can be played in the background for additional ambience. I like to splice them together with sound editing software, then burn them to cd and playback on a boom box beneath my desk; doesn't require any software running in the background stealing cpu cycles.
  4. DVD is now available at the FlightSim Pilot ShopCheers! ~ Rudi
  5. Tried the demo last night, Hoquiam to Port Angeles via Mt Olympus; Absolutely stunning! Although I live in Colorado now, I grew up in a small logging town (Vader) in southwestern Washington, and made many trips up to the pennisula, and I must say that the Orbx Team has captured the overall beauty of the region. Just can't say enough about the craftsmanship that went into this product.Of course I will happily purchase the DVD once it's released, which was my intention anyway, even before the demo. But I just wanted to say "Thank You" to everyone involved for making the demo available; it's a brilliant marketing technique IMO, and I think it will attract many loyal customers in the future.. myself included!Cheers! ~ Rudi
  6. Hello Piel,By "passive cooling" I assume you are running one of those cards that advertises silent operation and does not have a cooling fan? If so, then additional case fans/ventilation should be considered. For example; check the front of the case for an intake fan, and that the airflow is unobstructed on it's path toward your gfx card. Then check for exhaust fans that are positioned as such that they draw the heat away from the gfx card and outside the case. Not to encourage smoking, but if you have a clear case panel, holding a lit cigarrete, near the intake and observing the smoke's course thru the case, will immediately show you the effectiveness of your ventilation scheme. If your ventilation is indeed inadequate; in additon to standard case fans, there are also 'specialty fans' available, which can be mounted at strategic locations within the case and their direction adjusted in order to provide the best possible airflow to your components. There are also 'slot fans' which may be positoned in the adjacent slot to your gfx card, that will provide additional airflow directly to/from the source. In the meantime, you might try running without the side panel; this will also confirm if you do indeed have a heat problem, before you start purchasing a bunch of fans needlessly.Good luck ~ Rudi
  7. Eric,I used to run a 7800GT; it's an Nvidia thing. And Opa's suggestion (in-sim AA) is the only way I found to get around it, if I wanted to see the aircraft I was selecting. So eventually, I just went with the dark screen in the selection menu and allowed my gfx card to do the anti-aliasing, as Red1 mentioned. Yes, I feel your pain; this was actually one of the factors in my decision to switch and stay with an ATI card, despite some of the negative comments I'd read regarding FSX performance (I run and enjoy both). It's just no fun having a favorite sim give the appearance that something is broken, even if it isn't.
  8. I had a similar situation during a fresh reinstall this past weekend; only difference was UT.. I'm using Canada Roads and EVI shorlines instead. Taking off from Victoria toward Nanaimo, I kept seeing rings of shoreline in the water; also roads extending out into the water. I ensured all the default road files were removed per the readme, so what could be the problem? Well, I'm running the FSG mesh, which I keep at the top of the library menu with the North Cascades above that. After several iterations of scenery library shuffling, I discovered that placing the North Cascades scenery folder beneath the others in question, solved the problem (using library menu, not config file). Later, I discovered during a flight from KPDX, that it was doing the same thing to the Columbia River Gorge scenery, so I moved it down the library list again, and all is well. So basically, try keeping the North Cascades folder at the very bottom of all the other Northwest sceneries in the library menu. Those are some fantastic sceneries btw, and a beautiful place to fly; I hope you get it sorted soon.
