  1. Wow that video actually brings a tear to my eyes. Great job Asobo. Scott
  2. Thanks for the feedback everyone, much appreciated. Sounds like the KFFA addon just isn't quite up to VerticalSim standards then, maybe I will give Norfolk a try. Part of me is thinking I should hold off until after the USA world release - wondering if KFFA might get some love as part of that world update (truthfully I was kinda shocked that Wright Brothers memorial was left out of a flight simulator...) Thanks, Scott
  3. I'm having a lot of issues with this addon, are other people seeing the same? The monument itself just seems "off", can't explain exactly what but if you drone cam around it it just doesn't look right. Maybe issue with drone cam distorting, not sure Some of the stuff they've added to the airport, like the painted "First Flight" on the taxiway, flicker (badly)...if you pan the view around, you can see it blinking on and off. Seems like some type of z-order thing? The AI logic Asobo used originally mapped the pathways in the monument as dirt, and it doesn't look like this has been updated I get a green blob of trees that are a very unnatural green compared to the rest of the area Is everyone else seeing the same thing? I was also very interested in VerticalSims Norfolk airport...but after seeing the issues with this I'm hesitant. I anticipated that as a company releasing payware that they would have used this free addon as an advertisement. Unless I'm doing something very wrong...it's not very good IMO. Thanks, Scott
  4. Not sure I agree with that. 40 years ago the cost of a new C172 was about the same as the cost of a new car. Now it's 8x or more. I think many more people actually owned their own airplanes back then, where now the only way a normal family can afford a plane is through rental, joint ownership, or a flying club. All three of those have serious drawbacks for someone who just wants to go out and fly. I will admit though I am uncertain how the ongoing, recurrent costs such as annuals, hangering, etc. are compared to the past. Scott
  5. I wonder if we have to clear caches? scott
  6. Agree 100%. In a real C172, I've never had any issues seeing the instruments during the day, even on cloudy days. In MSFS, there are many, many occasions where the ambient light in the cockpit is so low I can barely make out the instruments. I sure hope there is a way to tweak the ambient light in a cockpit. Scott
  7. @seamaster55, I'm hoping "aircraft updates" means: "Inop" systems become "op" Improvement to flight controls. For example, looking at the reviews of the Cessna 182T, they note that things like the trim wheel work much better, rudder sensitivity much improved, etc. over the default aircraft. Hope they tweak the default planes to rectify these issues I'd also love to see someone come out with a tool that would let us edit the checklists. I'd love to include full checklists for all airplanes. Patch looking good! Scott
  8. @flyforever Any chance you have specs or some sort of build notes? My saitek TPM is ruined by the bad pots, although it has been ten years or so since I used them. What I’d really like is to make something more like Cessna controls eg push/pull instead of levers. thanks scott
  9. I missed that part of the video, I’ll have to re watch it. But with 250,000,000 cells, and each cell needing info on wind, clouds, temp, water saturation...that would be a LOT of data. Not that they aren’t already dealing with lots of data...but we’re probably talking GBs to store a single instant in time...
  10. I don’t think that’s realistic at all...needs played back at 5x speed to sound like real ATC! 😊
  11. I agree with the OP. I was really hoping for voice recognition so I could talk to the sim in natural language, and I was hoping on things like the GRIPHY approach (my apologies might have that wrong...few days since I watched the video) that it would pronounce the word vs spelling it phonetically. im not an IFR pilot so SIDS/STARS don’t add value for me (I know the do for folks who fly commercial jets). So doesn’t seem like a whole lot of improvement. just my opinion! Scott
  12. Yep, 100 mbs is the basic tier with Spectrum cable/internet.
  13. A nice time-lapsed video of flying down the Outer Banks would be nice. Start at the birthplace of aviation KFFA, to KHSE, W95. That's what I'd love to see! Scott
  14. That’s a great insight into how the AI helps interpret the images. We are just starting to dip our toes into Azure AI and ML at work, interesting to see real world uses cases. Thanks for posting! Scott
  15. ATC that can listen to my voice and translate it properly, and respond back to me with realistic speech. I see Microsoft demos all the time where they, in real time, translate what the speak is saying into foreign languages. With the somewhat limited vocabulary ATC uses it should be easier to decode. Plus very realistic Outer Banks scenery! Scott
