  1. Thanks for all your help. I suspected the video card (HD5670 ATI/Radeon) is to weak, I believe not even 1Gb mem. As for the CPU, my i5 is mounted on an iMac (used with Windows) and I suspect that the system splits the quad. So, I'll save P3D for another day, when I change hardware completely. iMac won't let me change anything insside, as you probably know.
  2. Hi, sorry to be a bore, here, but you guys are so good at giving valuable advice. Since running P3Dv2, my FPS have run at a lousy 13 on average, irrespective of settings, min or maxed. It seems also to load textures slowly... Strangely, with my FSX well tweaked, I manage regularly 20-26fps. Let me assure you, since acquiring P3D, I have tried separately all the standard tweaks (LM, Word Not Allowed, *******, etc...) to no avail. makes no difference. I am starting to wonder if there is any form of incompatibility at hardware level, given that P3D transfers a lot of usage to the graphic card, etc. My computer is an Intel based Apple (iMac 11, 23" monitor) running (happily) on Windows 7-64 ultimate with SP1 Intel® Core i5 CPU 680 @ 3.60GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.6GHz 8 Gb RAM available memory Direct X 11 Radeon HD5670 (not the best, but OK with FSX) Hard disk Hitachi 2Gb with lots of free space. Any advice or suggestion welcome, meanwhile, I am obviously happy to continue with FSX well maxed and delivering enough fps (and little stutter...) Great forum, btw ! B)
  3. Thanks shortspecialbus I tried again, differetn mail box, etc. and got immediate reply, so it must have been one of those things !
  4. Hello ! I have been tempted for some time to move on to P3D(V2) having read all the good things about it, and keeping in mind all future developments, which FSX cannot offer. I am a pilot (PPL) training for CPL/IFR and consequently feel I need the best training tools available. I have visited the Lockheed Martin website to enroll. They are asking to "register" before anything can be done, which I have now done TWICE, but have received nothing from them by way of confirmation, so I am stuck, it seems. I just can't buy it. Am I the only one ? Any ideas, please ?
  5. Jim, this is the only way to turn : with brakes. Cirruses, like many new a/c have a floating (non-steerable) front wheel. <_<
  6. Hi guys, have a look at this lovely piece posted some time ago on the missionary pilots blog : THE TOP 10 AVIATION TIPS FROM MISSIONARY PILOTS  http://www.mafblog.c...ssionary-pilots Enjoy !
  7. Thanks for your replies, and to hear from a fellow simmer from beautiful NZ. This is what I thought: hot summers burning out everything, but did not expect the rest of the time to be so lush, though. Makes me feel to want to come down under and fly it all out... in a tiger moth, perhaps, and to visit Wanaka ?
  8. Hi there, and wishing you a very happy new year of flight simming in "ORBX world" ! B) My question today is this (bear with me) I am still testing South Island to check its beauties, and I have been sampling all season, with this surprise : The NZ summer textures appear very much like our European winter ones (yellow/brown with a generally cold 'earthy' look) while NZ winters textures give an appearance of extremely lush and pleasant green. Is this right ? I am sure ORBX people are right, they must be ! But, for myself, I am starting to have doubts about my geography and I feel I am losing what little knowledge of climatology I thought I possessed. As a final comment, I find that all seasons, except Summer, are quite green... I have never been to NZ, so cannot comment further on their seasons. I think all my FSX parameters are alright, so... Any comments, please? I have attached 2 photos for each season to show the textures as they appear on my screen.
  9. Hi Andy, thanks for your prompt reply. Normally I do this regularly when flying a single with a simple DI. The thought of doing this with an EHSI never sprang to my mind since, as you know, this cannot not happen in RW flying ! Cheers
  10. I don't think I ever got that before on any plane, nor with the C90 : both the compass and the GPS are showing my track as 314 degrees - but the EHSI is happily showing 014 degrees ! I noticed that after take off. There does not seem to be anything I can do to change that. I may have read about this in the past on the forum, but can't remember. Is this just a case of restarting FSX and hope it won't happen again ? Wonder what caused this. Any idea, please anyone ? Merry Christmas to all !
  11. I believe there is a solution to this. Have a look at the FTX support forum.
  12. Thank you very much, Luca. This proves very useful if one's not flying our C90B too regularly.
  13. Does this happen with any other twin turboprop in your hangar ? What flight controls do you use ? A joystick with a single power lever, or do you use a throttle quadrant with different power levers ? I'd look again at my settings, do you have FSPUIC ? So many possible causes. In my case, sometimes both engines go berzerk when I return to the sim after I have used the "map" screen or the "slew" function and it's a pain to deal with, for sure...
  14. Yup, thanks ! Guess I went past that one up there... Know what they say... can't see... time to hang the helmet ! Funny bit is : I just wanted to test the wipers quickly. Turn Battery on, turn wipers on (slow & fast) can hear the sounds, wipers not moving... interesting !
