  1. It is when you are under heavy fire by guns fired from cops, other drug traffickers, natives with spears like in Indiana Jones, the ColOmbian FARC, etc. That my friends, is an emergency takeoff. And no, it is not in the Commercial Pilot PTS either.
  2. I voted for the landing because you did not include the emergency takeoff! I love the emergency takeoff! Especially in places like Columbia or Mexico.
  3. Darrol, Re Read the quote I posted. I am not directing this at you. I am addressing this at the posters attitude and what I quoted from that individual. Silly childish comments that have no place here and only exist because he is able to hide behind his computer. This is one of the few things I really hate about forums in that you have a few 12 year old trolls turning a good discussion into a bad discussion just because they can type. I probably should have just let it go but he caught me in a bad mood already so there you go. And the "too seriously" comment was directed at his attitude and not someone who sit's behind the computer on a long flight the whole time and does not think he is Tom Cruise with no pilots license. If I have the time I am there the whole time as well. It is also something I take seriously beyond a game but I am not going to make some silly rule that I have to sit at my crew station wearing my epilets the whole time and miss out on a girls gone wild party because the plane might crash or the FSX plane police might pull my pretend certificate because I spent to long in the back with the flight attendants. It is like me bagging on you because you may like to switch to external view during your flight. No, real men fly from the VC the WHOLE time right. Not saying you do, just saying that is what it is like, silly. Cheers
  4. Are you kidding me? This is a simulator, not real life. For those of us that have a job and/or a life and are bussy in real aviation and still like to do long haul oceanic's I cant imagine sitting at the computer and staring at the panel strait and level for 12 hours! You guys take this WAY to seriously. There is a point where you have to balance your flight simming with your real life if you have one. If not Bravo to you but don't hammer others for using the sim as they see fit. Maybe I should get rid of all my PMDG planes and use Abacus or Captain sim instead because I am not worthy of such realism. I guess it's either FSX'ing or keep my job and/or neglect my responsibilities then. What a joke. Maybe I will pick up some food stamps and some SSI so I can really pay attention and be a real FSX pilot like you. <_< You guys actually log this stuff. I had no idea you could log it as "sim" time. I could have obtained a real job at American Airlines along time ago. What collumn does it go under?
  5. I changed the addon lines to False i.e. <Disabled>False</Disabled> and put in the absolute pathes to the SDK under the tools and still no workie.
  6. I just bought a new optical drive and installed the SDK properly. I have been reading instructions and tutorials for this but am unsure of editing the dll.xml file. Here it is. My path for the SDK is c:\program files(x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X My path for FSX is e:\Flight Simulator X I would have installed the SDK to its own folder on the E drive but it sounded like it was better to install it to the default location to avoid this issue I am having of the toolbars not showing. Not only that but I never got the permissions prompt when I loaded FSX flight. So it's probably that it cant find FSX right? So here is the dll.xml. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? Thanks <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?> <SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0"> <Descr>Launch</Descr> <Filename>dll.xml</Filename> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad> <Launch.Addon> <Name>ObjectFlow_PAKT.dll</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Path>E:\Flight Simulator X\ORBX\FTX_NA\FTX_AA_PAKT\Scenery\ObjectFlow_PAKT.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>Addon Manager</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Path>bglmanx.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>Object Placement Tool</Name> <Disabled>True</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Path>..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Mission Creation Kit\object_placement.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>Traffic Toolbox</Name> <Disabled>True</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Path>..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Traffic Toolbox SDK\traffictoolbox.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>Visual Effects Tool</Name> <Disabled>True</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Path>..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Special Effects SDK\visualfxtool.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>PMDG HUD interface</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>PMDG\DLLs\PMDG_HUD_interface.dll</Path> <DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName> <DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>FSUIPC 4</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>Modules\FSUIPC4.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>VistaMare Core</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Path>VistaMare\ViMaCoreX.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>PMDG Options</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>PMDG\DLLs\PMDGOptions.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>PMDG Events</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>PMDG\DLLs\PMDGEvents.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>PMDG Sounds</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>PMDG\DLLs\PMDGSounds.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon><Name>FS Recorder</Name><Disabled>False</Disabled><ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad><Path>E:\FS Recorder\FSRecorder_FSX.dll</Path></Launch.Addon></SimBase.Document>
  7. So I installed it to an external drive on my laptop and transfered it to my desktop. How do I get FSX to "see" it now. Is it as simple as running SDK Config? I am brand new to this SDK and scenery design stuff. When I try to update it it says I need the origional version. How do I get the installer to see it? Do I have to make some registry edits? Thanks
  8. I thought I did not have it but it turns out I do. I think my optical is crapped out. Can I install it on my laptop and trasfer it to my desktop. Can it be in its own folder or does it have to be in FSX? Thanks
  9. Ok does this mouse cursor fps bug effect everyone? I have not noticed it.
  10. I'll have to read that about 30 more times but that was very helpfull info. So far I am not having any issues with the new card but do have occaisonal pauses of up to 2 seconds. No microstuttering but if I am using the ultralight for scenery testing in slew mode sometimes I can get a rythmatic stutter wich is more like one of those golf coarse sprinkler heads where everything slows down and then runs normal once every 1 second. If that makes any sense. In an airliner since most of the view is blocked I never have that issue. So is it like .33 per second or per frame? As far as the default FFTF. So if I understand this correctly .33 of the time it takes to make a frame the cpu is dedicated to creating terrain in the fiber. So basically we bump the FFTF down as low as we can untill we get blurry tiles. I get it by rote and I will have to experament with this. Yes this is exactly it. I cant live w/o my autogen, traffic and jetways and approaches with my wingtips skimming peoples dirty laundry. I also cant live w/o good AA and I am happy with what I get which is mostly above 30 but allways between 20 and 30 in the heavy areas like SF and Seatle, etc. I only have to reduce settings in KLGA from imaginesim before I go there in order to keep it above 17 and at that point in becomes noticable but doable. I would not want to lock at 20 since I would be missing out on most of the time when I got above 20 and that is also noticable. Especially since I may be getting Track IR soon. This is all good advise but with the new card I no longer have a problem with microstuttering, just the occaisonal pause. I am not sure if this is the way to go for me since my issue is plain old low fps in those few areas like KLGA that I can live w/o going to. Thanks allot
  11. It gives you a message that says pilot respond every so often and the pilot must press some button to make it go away to tell it he is awake, if not it sounds this hellatiouse alarm. Makes it impossible to go to bed on a long transoceanic. I am sure it will be an option or not moddeled. Otherwise it would be a cruel joke by PMDG on it's customers. Would it not be funny? Maybe for the first 5 minutes.
  12. The pilot keep awake thingie or PKAT (technical term)what the heck is it called?)) would be a great option to be able to disable due to long oceanics while at work or sleep in the crew bunk(my bed). I just hope that is the case or not modeled at all. Those undercariage cameras I would think would be easy to model as they would just be FSX cameras superimposed on a gauge and would be pretty neat option to have. Just my o2
  13. Thanks forthat. What FFTF would I need to regain all of my fps back from the lock? Or is this possible? I find the best thing I could have ever done to relieve stuttering and low fps is upgrade my video card, man what a huge difference. And reinstall windows and FSX the very slow and methodical but correct way like reboots and enetering the sim after every installation and loading the default flight. I am not sure the latter had much responsibility for this but I think allot of my weird issues before was from not following the proper protocols with installation. Disable virus scanner, rclick admin, install, load fsx and default flight, exit, reboot, rinse and repeat. Takes forever but I think this is neccesary especially in windows 7 with old 32bit programs like FSX. The new card also allowed me to enable bp=0 w/o issues and this gave me a huge increase in performance beyond what I could have imagined. It is amazing how that bufferpool drains the cpu of resorces.
