And this works fine? You do not see massively reduced variety in models and liveries doing this approach? Have to test this once. BTW: could not care less about loading times, I do not really see a noticable difference between FLSTL only, AIG only or both. I also have the full GAIST installation, so my loading times are anyway huge 😉
-
Interesting, how do you achieve this? Simply remove the FSLTL model library? The injector then basically uses the fallback for each and every plane? I currently have both FSLTL and AIG fully installed and I still think that the fallback does not really work well comparing the variability of textures and models of both FSLTL and AIG on a given airport at a given time.

Frame generation in MSFS - the good and the bad
AnkH replied to Cpt_Piett's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
To be honest, and of course it is slightly in defense of my purchase, but with Frame Generation, the 4080 does almost an equally good job compared to the 4090, simply because baseline FPS are mostly limited by the CPU anyway. Only the relatively small VRAM speaks against the 4080. Besides that, I bet I get more FPS per Dollar 🤣 -
Not only, some even change the settings in the nVIDIA Control Panel for movie playback and claim a positive effect in MSFS...

There are by far not all addons available via marketplace. Besides the obvious disadvantages of marketplace addons... -

Slightly embarrassing that they failed for the third or even fourth time with an update resulting in a different folder name. -
How to get the best image quality using DLDSR+DLSS
AnkH replied to Cpt_Piett's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
For DLSS Ultra Quality you need nVIDIA Profile Inspector, because the Control Panel does not offer this setting. But does the novel nVIDIA App offer it? Anyone knows this? -
Thanks for the comparison shots, as I expected, the difference is marginal if not using the switching back and forth of both screenshots allowing to actually see the difference. I would even claim that you wont notice the difference when not using screenshots and flying around between LOD 400 and LOD 600. Or: if I show you a video WITHOUT any chance to do a comparison, you would not be able to tell the LOD as soon as it is above 400. For me, reason enough not to bother that much about settings higher than 400. But that is my personal opinion 😉

I will do some tests on my side, but as a matter of fact: yes, with a side by side comparison, you will be able to judge if the mountain tops are defined and "sharp" in the distance, but when you are not comparing, I doubt that you will notice if the mountain at the horizon is rounded because of the lower LOD or because of the simple fact that it actually is rounded also in RL. Unless you know the terrain very good because it is your hometown/region, of course. Swiss Alps will be my playground, because I exactly know how the panorama should look like e.g. when sitting on the tarmac in LSZB. But if I am flying e.g. in NZ, I am not familiar enough with the mountain shapes I could potentially judge if the panorama looks right when sitting in Queenstown.

Do you really see a difference when sitting on ground using that high TLOD and OLOD values compared to "normal" ones like TLOD and OLOD at 200?
-
Even with the AutoFPS app?
-
The question is: do you really still need the framerate lock if you are able to get more than those 30 FPS when using the AutoFPS tool? Back in P3D, I only locked my frame rate because my rig was not capable of achieving much more and it helped to stabilize the FPS. But nowadays, using frame generation and MSFS, I have my FPS unlocked and thanks to AutoFPS, the framerate anyway never dips into a region critical, e.g. for my G-Sync to be disabled (running from 48FPS upwards).

You must be fun at parties...

And the plane worked normally afterwards? In my case, the plane did not work anymore after restarting the Fenix app...

Sadly no word on the sinking into ground issue I have with B2 on almost every second gate...
