Again, the stuff I do the most with fligthsims is still uninstalling them :-)

IRL I fly gliders, having started in 1980 at the age of 16... My dream was to become an airline pilot, but I didn't fight enough for it...

  1. Regarding 2024 I just wanted to be able to read somewhere that Petrovich talent in flight dynamics for flight simulation is going to be the reason for deep changes to MSFS Fdm... That would turn me into a true believer...
  2. It's still how I see it, the GTA flightsim, but it looks gorgeous!!! Some addons can also make a difference, and help me forgetting about what I don't like about it. Same applies to the other two...
  3. A lot of users close their eyes to many aspects of how MFS offers a lot but with rather basic quality and / or coherence in it's implementation. Thanksfully there are deveopers who can turn their addons ( for Airbus I have to consider the FBW the best example, for weather HiFi with ASFS, for ATC (non-AI) FSHUD, ....) into really valuable examples of what can be done with a base simulator with an incredible potential, and a unique capability of portraying the World, even if in some aspects, like colours and lighting I can sometimes find P3D with some mods and XP12 doing an even better job... I am one of those users, and have given up trying to convince myself I can play XP12 or P3D only and find in each of those the satisfaction I look after in a simulator... MSFS is a temptation and now with someone who has long been doing some of the best ever improvements for weather depiction and effects simulation, I am even more feeling at home, and I want to believe MFS 2024 will make me feel even better !
  4. I just want them to make 2024 at least as compatible with ASFS as MFS 2020 is even with it's many limitations... One day is ok-ish... But ASFS already gives me what I have in p3d and XP historic-weather wise...
  5. Yes, because when over areas with such scarse coverage it reverts to model-based data obtained from the GRIBs, and uses it down to ground level... It can still try to interpolate with data from nearby stations too.
  6. Yes, also confirmed that the tow back is due to a problem with some airports. Took off from LPEV and all good, but before SU15 beta I was able to take off by winch or tow plane from LPMN and LPST...
  7. Can you place your point of view more consisely so that I can try to understand how you can classify their work as "mediocre" ? It's probably the first time I see AS P3D being classified that way 🥴
  8. Bob, in English you use the word "agenda"... Of the examples of people complaining about MSFS, I've found a good deal of what I interpret as "agenda-based" complaints, some other based on poor knowledge of how to properly set / use ASFS and / or Meteorology, and OFC there are also complaints which are well-founded and I am sure will only contribute to make ASFS grow better with future updates and the unique support I have long learned to expect from HiFi Simulations. It is very difficult for a product like ASFS to get it's work done when the base platform offers very few hooks... and yet Damian has, once again and against all odds, been able to do what is already done by ASFS.
  9. This sort of videos makes me think that either this users don't understand weather at all or have an "agenda"... When someone records a video trying to make comparisons between what is injected by different sources, including default Real World Weather in MSFS 2020, it is important to add to the video description important informations such as METAR valid at the time / aifield / station / area replicated in sim... Guys like the author of that youtube are clearly concerned not with understanding what should be depicted but, if not based on other objectives, simply assuming that what is being depicted in MSFS 2020 is correct / expected - even in the case in that video where those reach and varied cloud graphics that always surprise me with their diversity, are present in the default weather side of the "show"... Strangely Cumulus, very rare, I believe a first time in the hsitory of MSFS weather redering !!! OMG 😕 And yet there are unfortunately users who will see this as a good "review"...
  10. Max ground 20, Max Active 25... Reduce injected bellow 28fps, stop bellow 24 fps. Using it with FSLTL, with "External" only being selected (no added BGL).
  11. Ehehehe, I know about Wembley and it's History 🙂 Was just being nasty 🙂 Me 60, alive and uninstalling ... 🤣
  12. Nope! Used it for a while, but reverted to "good-old" DX11 🙂
  13. Now they just have to make the city and aircraft lights illuminate the clouds at night... Other than that, heck !!!, even if I am playing more of that GTA flightsim these days because of the looks, XP feels insanely realistic compared to it in so many FLIGHT simulation aspects... and it still has a lot of margin for expansion and getting better, if Austin want's it to... For instance day/dusk/night/dawn transitions regarding lighting and sky colours are another area whre XP shines. I used to be very critic about it not having the correct lighting intensity at some places and dates, but it is now spot on, unlike MSFS 2020, at least at the latitudes I can observe IRL...
