  1. I think SXAirportDesign is working on Nashville now. I would guess that someone may be looking to develop Salt Lake CIty too at some point .
  2. Thanks for the info Brian. That is annoying and I guess that's the kind of thing that has hurt their reputation, at least with the more modern planes. I usually manually control the descent at some point after TOD anyway with the few FMC planes I use, so maybe it's not a deal killer in my case. I'm still not sure about it, though.
  3. I have a question about the CS767. Seriously, is it really that bad? Keep in mind, I'm not that demanding about perfect systems and 100% bug-free products. I really like the CS 737 and that one has very annoying issues. I just want a fun plane to fly occasionally. At the same time, I don't want to throw even $13 away on a really bad plane that would frustrate me, so I haven't purchased it. And no, I do not want the Level D product. I'm sure it's a lot better, but it just seems too old to me and the price is too high for a product that dated. Also, someone asked about the 707. I personally think that's one of the better ones from them. I also like the 727, but the sound set could be better.
  4. This is from the Flight1 website forum post about UTX2: "Among other updates, Ultimate Terrain USA 2.0 provides completely replaced road data for the entire USA, based on TomTom’s commercial data, which is normally found in today’s GPS units. " I think that statement is a convincing argument and I personally don't know of any product that can claim better accuracy for the US right now.
  5. I couldn't agree more. What I do is try to fill out the map over time with select airports. The cost adds up, so I keep it simple and appreciate the occasional sale. But, I always try to look at purchases like this as a way to contribute to a developer's work in making improvements to the simulation experience. I do think the airports add something to it.
  6. It looks pretty good. I've been following this thread and really appreciate the work you've put into the scenery. I'm curious, did you include night textures too?
  7. It could be the driver. I have a similar issue with the Milviz plane, but that plane is rendering lights in a completely different way. And I don't have lighting issues with any other plane, other than the DC-10. I would be fine with it if the lights looked like that picture.
  8. I haven't used the DC-10 in a while, so I just tried it out and realized something - the panel lights don't work. If I turn them on, nothing happens. The flood lights are the only thing that works and I can't stand that red glow. To compare, I tried out the MD-81 and both the panel and overhead lighting worked great.
  9. Blending issues don't bother me, personally, so that's good to hear. I have to say, the scenery looks amazing. Rob's first picture with the terminal almost looks like a photo. And all that coverage for just $28? That's almost like buying an airport and getting area scenery free. One question, doesn't Monterey require the Orbx NCA scenery or does that one also work with GEX? I've always ignored these airports, since I'm not an Orbx owner. But if the only problem is some minor blending issues, I may have to take another look at them.
  10. I don't have the DC-9, so I can't comment on that. I would guess that it is better, from what I've read. I think the OP's comparison post was really good. Regarding the two main 737s, I have both and I think they both have their issues. I couldn't get the autopilot to work right with the Milviz and their support forum did not help me figure out the problem, beyond "we have an upcoming fix." Also, Milviz has pretty much announced that they are done with the 737 fixes, which doesn't make sense to me. Also, the Milviz DX11 night lights would not work on my machine, despite it having the published minimum standards (apparently, it's ATI cards that are the problem). I thought they said that they would add an option for non-DX11 lighting, but I don't think they ever did. Oh well. I didn't see it mentioned, but there is an upcoming SP for the CS 737, so I guess we'll see how that works out. I personally like the plane, despite the bugs and even though I thought the Milviz felt better in flight and had great sounds. I also think CS easily wins with the VC. The Milviz version was way over-the-top. There is no way I would knowingly board a plane like that in real life, unless it was the last one out of the danger zone.
  11. I bought the box version several years ago and liked it for the most part. The only thing I didn't like about about it was the VC lights at night. I didn't care for the only option being the red glowing color, so I hope they changed that.
  12. What I wonder is why the Level D 767 is still selling for the full price, given the age of the software and the lack of an update. I would think the price would drop at some point, yet it doesn't. Personally, I would never buy it now for that reason.
  13. I have the Just Flight and it was ok when it worked. But there there were too many annoying bugs that I couldn't figure out. The worst one was that it wouldn't always start correctly. Sometimes it would, but I usually had to Ctrl-E it at some point to make it work. I don't have the QW one, but I do have their 757, so I'm guessing it's pretty good.
