  1. A 757 actually I believe, unless there was a recent change. Pics I have found on Flickr from the other day show a 757 as well. -ZATZAi

  3. Pretty sure it doesn't, but I could be wrong. I've gone in and out of the options menu as host and seen others do it as well and they just vanish off the map and then re-appear where they were when they come back out of the menu. No effect noticed for the others flying, they just continue on as normal. Only thing I've ever seen the host be able to do that effects others is when they change the weather, or of course kick someone from their session (But even then one's flight continues uninterrupted with either the new settings or on a new host).
  4. It's under game controls in options rather than aircraft controls. Labelled, Look Around (POV), make sure you have your joystick input seleted, then click on the field for Look Around (POV) and move your hatch switch. It should pick it up and assign it to the hatch switch, this works for me on my Saitek Cyborg X. You may want to either invert your hatch switch in your joystick settings (Outside of Flight) if it lets you do that or choose Invert Camera Controls under Gameplay in Option within Flight so that your hatch switch moves your POV the same way your joystick would (ie down is up).
  5. Just to report back on what I said for anyone interested. I'm getting 30-60 FPS with the 560 Ti 448 depending on how busy the scenery is where I am with mostly high/max settings on a single 1920x1080 monitor.
  6. Would be nice to have that feature indeed, but if we got it we would absolutely need a cockpit for the P-51 so we can monitor the RPM and Manifold pressure to manage the engine. Unless there's an auto setting for that added so we can be hands off with it like we can with fuel mixtures if we want to.
  7. It really does look like overheating, but like J van E said it's strange that it's only the sky. I wonder if it's a memory problem on the graphics processor itself. Is it always the sky? And always the same problem? Does it matter if you use a different weather settings? Maybe the texture file got corrupted somehow? Would still be a good idea to try and find out what the temp of your GPU is when it's running flight.
  8. I am not sure. I have heard they have "lagged" response, ie they don't change as soon as you move your joystick. But that is the case with in game instruments as well, as they don't show what your joystick is doing, buyt what the plane is doing, like in real life. So I wonder if those complaining about lag in this regard are taking this into account. Or if the Saitek Instruments do indeed lag after the ingame instruments, and if so, to what degree...
  9. My system currently uses a Geforce 275 which is very close to a single 280 in performance. Today I am upgrading to a 560 Ti 448 (The 448 part is very important, the regular 560 Ti is noticeably slower) which has performance similar to a 570. It may be a worthwhile upgrade from a 280 as you could get two of them relatively cheap (They're prices are dropping as the 600 series is coming out now). I got mine for around $230. I'll report back on what the performance is like with my single 560 Ti 448. Also keep in mind some settings in flight don't look any better on High than they do on Medium, like Shadows etc. Someone did a post on that here earlier.
  10. I don't have SLI however I plan to get it relatively soon and have been doing a lot of research on it. The problem you're having sounds like Micro-stutter, a problem specific to SLI and Crossfire setups where the graphics cards and Monitor refresh rates fall out of sync because the FPS of the graphics cards are a number that is too high or too low compared to the refresh rate (ie 60hz or 120hz) of the monitor and the number is not easily divisible. The standard solution to this problem as I have read is to enable VSYNC, so that your graphics cards lock in at an FPS equivalent to your monitor's refresh rates (Assuming they can), so 60FPS for a 60hz monitor, and no higher. 60FPS is where micro-stutter is supposed to go away, or start to go away, if your FPS is lower like 30FPS it may feel like only 15-20FPS, so reducing graphics quality may be required at that point. Dual card GPUs like the 590 also suffer from this same phenomenom. Another option, interestingly, is to add a third graphics card and that apparently reduces microstutter as it changes up the timings (Four cards works too but it's not as big an improvement as moving from 2 to 3 cards). I've also heard it said that running multiple monitors can reduce microstutter if each monitor is handled by it's own video card, I don't know how true this is though as it depends on how SLI/Crossfire handles the rendering of all the screens. There's an excellent write up on Tom's Hardware here: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-geforce-stutter-crossfire,2995.html
  11. Yah caught a few episoddes of this myself recently, it's better than Flying Wild Alaska in that they deal less with the person lives and drama of the pilots and ground staff. Still, it's a "reality show" rather than a biography in that they hype up the drama wherever they can trying to make every mistake seem like life or death. At least it's not as bad as Flying Wild Alaska where they try to make it seem like every time they land they're going to crash... I still long for an even keeled show about flying that just shows what it's like to be a pilot in an airline and get's more into the logistics. But I suppose that won't sell well on commercial television. Best I've found so far is The Aviators from Canada, that airs on PBS in the USA. It's a half hour show that talks a bit about different aspects of flying on each episode, what it's like to fly an airline, what are LSV Planes all about, etc etc. It can feel a bit like some of the segments are paid spots at times, but at least it's more informative then sensational.
  12. Be real curious if changing these values, (after enabling the custom settings switch via the post EastfCoastGuy mentioned) has an effect on the game now or in the future.
  13. Cool, what's the best way to keep abreast of such developments if one isn't on the Beta team?
