  1. Hi all I have Ultimate Traffic 2 and I'm going through my database after re-installing the game after the purchase of a new machine I'm having problems with textures from the FSPainter 787-X model appearing... I start the game in LAX, and there's one 787-10 that's in parking. It will show the plane if I have the default GE or RR paint but if I try and apply the textures of a repaint from Etihad, United etc. the plane completely disappears from the ground. It's not even transparent/solid black texture, it just disappears. The textures look fine in the folders, and the Aircraft.cfg file looks OK... I can't figure out what the issue is. Thanks
  2. I was just wondering if anyone could recommend the best website for AI repaints? I use AVSim, which i guess might be the best one, but I just wondered if there were any others? Thanks
  3. I've been re-assigning paint works to liveries with UT2. Most of them are working fine but there are 2 files that don't seem to be working. FAIB Thomson 737-8W and United Traffic Team's 7878 for Royal Brunei are appearing as solid black shapes. The shape of the aircraft is accurate but the paint isn't showing. Any ideas why? Thanks
  4. FSX has been working fine for ages on my computer but the last couple of days it's been 'fatal error'ing It started out by happening once or twice, but now I can't even load a flight. The same process is happening over and over. I open the application, am able to choose my settings (date, aircraft etc) and I get into the game. It loads up and I can see my aircraft for about 20 seconds. The traffic is about to activate from UT2 and that's when it crashes. It causes a fatal error and restarts, and the process starts again. The message I get upon restart says "Microsoft .NET Framework. Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. Exception HRESULT 0xC000014B" The only difference from the last few days is I have been re-assigning livery paints in UT2, but not done anything else. Any help appreciated.
  5. Hi there, I've had a problem importing a database file once before once the flights were compiled, and it needed to me to remove the paint job and then back into it after it was imported. I've been trying to do Jet2's latest flight plans from AvSim and I am getting the error below. I have removed all the paint jobs but this hasn't fixed the issue. Any help would be appreciated.
  6. Hi there, I have been uploading new flight plans for Summer 2013 from the AVSIM library with no problems but came across one today. I downloaded the new Lufthansa flight plans and they installed no problem, but when it comes to importing them and finalizing them I get the following error: If anyone can help I'd appreciate it. Many thanks Mark
  7. Hi there, I was wondering if anybody would be able to help me with some UT2 updates. I've only recently learned how to install new textures onto already downloaded aircraft and I don't really know how to update liveries on Ultimate Traffic 2 (and flight plans, though I have downloaded the Winter 2012 update from the UT2 official website) I was wondering if anyone had already done all of the updates for liveries (AA, United/Continental merger, Virgin, Delta etc) with flight plans that I could maybe copy into my directory, maybe swapping the files on Dropbox and then going through it on TeamPlayer I know it doesn't involve doing all the work and it's asking a lot off somebody but I have tried to do similar things before and not been successful and ended up having to do a fresh install to restore the settings, and I don't want to mess things up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Mark
  8. I'll give that a try. I am installing to the default path that comes up, and it goes on C fine I think...
  9. I have recently reformatted my computer (C Drive) in NTFS format (nothing irregular with that as far as I'm aware with Windows Installations. I have heard that it is best to install Flight Simulator on another hard drive. I have added another hard drive to the computer (G Drive) and tried to install FSX, but encountered a problem. It says "you cannot install to the root of the drive" I have tried installing other games to see if there was a problem with the hard disk but they have gone on no problem. My computer is a Novatech iForce Intel Core i7 and the specs are: Intel Core i7 2600K Processor 4 x 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz Memory Intel 311 20GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive 2 x Western Digital Caviar Green Power 1TB 64MB Cache Hard Disk Drive Novatech ATX Gaming Case 22x DVD Writer NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 1536MB Graphics Card 750W Gaming PSU Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) Motherboard
  10. I've tried doing a search but haven't found anything relating to the post I'm after. Can anybody recommend the best AI Traffic download? I'm looking between the World of AI, Ultimate Traffic 2 and Traffic 360. Thanks in advance
  11. I will read through the tutorials carefully. It was the abbreviation OC I was unaware of - I'm sorry I don't have the technical lingo like you do. Like I said, I'm not really very technical when it comes to computers, hence the thread to give me an idea on what I have to do in order to get a smooth operating simulation. It's very easy to make those suggestions when you're in a position of hind sight having done it all and the guides. I understand it is not easy to do, but if I am struggling to grasp certains ways of tweaking things "overclocking your chip" sounds a lot simpler to you you than it does to me, even when looking at the guides. I will have a read through them tonight and try to get a better understanding of everything. I won't be installing FSX until my separate 2TB hard drive is here and installed.
  12. Thank you for your response - but again, I'm struggling to know what this means and how I will be able to do that. I'm unsure also of how I can choose to run DX9 or 10.. It's true that I don't want to spend my time tweaking everything, but at the same time I'd really like a smoothly running simulation.
  13. Hey guys - thank you so much for all of the information. It does all seem quite complex and daunting at the moment - some of the advice you have given is great but I have to admit even some of that sounds foreign to me. (i.e. Consider OC that CPU to over 4GHZ?) The PC I have is specifically developed for Gaming. This is the PC I actually have if you want to see more details specs that I haven't provided: http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/pcs/pc-1584.html It looks as though there's an awful lot of tweaking to be done before you can get started properly which is worrying me a little. As someone mentioned above, it itself is a science. In terms of my goals from FSX. I am very much into commercial airliners so the jetliners are my main interest. Commercial flights from big airports such as CDG, JFK, Heathrow etc. I would also like quite a bit of traffic too because that's something I want to experience with the simulation. Basically 'as real as in gets' in terms of commercial flying. I will install the main game this evening and consider add ons afterwards. As I am interested in main jetliners etc. are there any recommendations for freeware aircraft to get me started before purchasing other addons?
  14. Hi there, Newbie here - sorry if this post is in the wrong place - there's so many forums! Basically, I've had FS9 and FSX before and played them, but I want to start up again from scratch now I've had a new PC and I'm basically asking for your advice to help me get set up based on my specifications and wants from the game. I'm not a huge pilot enthusiast and don't really understand the technicalities of everything, but I have a reasonable joy stick and have learnt to fly properly over time. I am basically a fan of aviation and planes but only for leisure really. My computer specs: Windows 7 Processor: Intel® Core i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz 8.00GB Memory 64-bit OS Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 I have FSX but no add ons as of yet. I'm looking for a decent traffic package (unsure between UT2 and MyTraffic 5.4 or 2013) Some scenery settings and maybe some realistic settings for ground services etc. And then some planes to download and fly myself which I have seen on the AVSIM Library but I have trouble getting them to work sometimes and appear as aircraft for me. Any basic advice to get me set up would be much appreciated. If you need any more specs let me know and I'll post them, but that's what I'm looking for out of the game really. And if anyone has recommendations for joysticks that would be great (but nothing too technical) I'm basically starting out to learn to play the game properly now and do some real flights, so I need to teach myself properly too. Thanks so much in advance . Mark
