  1. this is actually a good thing as you now know the issue is rooted in your PC hardware somewhere be it burned capacitor on board or PSU unit is going Chris
  2. long time ago i had an issue with a Dell PC i plugged it to UPS than to the outlet alone but every time i turned it on it started beeping nothing was apparent, i replaced the unit to my surprise the same symptoms appeared even when directly plugged in to the wall at this point i realized it cant be the PC started investigating, first step i run an extension cord from another room and what do you know, everything worked it turned out the outlet i had the PC plugged into shared a breaker with my girls room and the added load actually came from their room Chris
  3. i think another good question to ask is, what else is connected directly to your UPS other than you main PC PSU?
  4. Ryan, reading through the comments i cant help but thinking its not your UPS or PSU id say its some sort of hardware malfunctioning on your board even if you have an old UPS that barely holds a 30 sec charge you shouldn't see any fluctuation at you PSU! unless its your UPS unit itself causing this! did you try working without it, plugging in directly to the wall? did you go through your crash logs? my money is on your board has some bad conductor or some sort any other devices gets rebooted when your SimPC does?, or is it only this PC? Chris
  5. Thanks again for you valuable input Brian i do have few ideas to improve performance in a large grid such as LAX area i noticed a huge performance increase when scenery complexity and autogen density are lowered (i always fly full sliders) this improves FPS in the LAX area in particular another strange anomaly i notices in LAX, as you approach the field FPS decreases to almost a halt once you go pass the fields fence or so, it just stops at once and FPS goes back to stable instantly at first i thought maybe its because there were less lights in view, but i was proved wrong as soon i a turned around with my Heli, keeping within LAX boundaries there were no FPS issues with all lights in view Level 3 don't know what to make of is; this is the first i noticed it agreed, the buildings textures adding to the night environment feel i will consider this in the future; i don't want to jump over my head atm i have made night textures with my iCVFR free project; this had made a great improvement to the view your not out of line; i will definitely improve the base tone and brightness my apologies Mohsen for hijacking your thread, i will open a new thread to continue disscussions Chris
  6. Brian, thank you for your great assistance your feedback is accurate and to the point if you dont mind, i need your help confirming the colors under DX9 are brighter ive tested yesterday with DX10 and the colors were slightly dark for my taste as well as for brightness, try turning bloom on under DX10 i reduced the number of distant lights not in view i didnt realize this until you brought it up, too many lights at a very large radius were on think of it as autogen radius, this was the fastest way to correct this issue before too many members experience this in the full version the area is segmented so not all CA comes on at once Best regards Chris
  7. those of you who downloaded the demo already an update has been made to improve performance significantly in LAX area please download from the same link again and overwrite current files you will enjoy your demo much more with this fixed revision please let me know how this is working for you now odourboy Level 3 (Lenovo Yoga13) Chris
  8. Thank you for your feedback odourboy your rig is fairly solid; im running a plain vanilla FSX with no addons on my Dev Laptop if i fly the area with no lights im getting around 17FPS i think the LAX grid is little too much for my natural spread i will adopt the area with additional level of intensity i have my external monitor fairly bright, its a new unit i just never played with it much, its all default and its LED HD Regards Chris
  9. Thank you very much Odourboy, you input is greatly appreciated may i ask what kind of hardware are you testing with i am running on my dev laptop (Yoga13) i can only fly level0+1 id expect a mid range dedicated sim PC to run level 2 fairly easy i will add more levels of intensity the best part is you don't lose much of your view as go low with intensity levels as the ground splash makes up for turning off some lights i don't use DX10, i guess i should test with DX10 as well the lights do seem little dark than what i get here is your monitor brightness lowered? Chris
