About Me
8 years ATC (Pre Reagan days) retired after 30 years route sales. Love my grands and simming in that order.

Maybe he found a new lady friend and is just too busy for his old AVSIM friends😂

Patco Lch started following What's the VERDICT on P3d V6?, Chock? and The best looking aircraft of all time…

Seems there’s a where’s Chock thread every once in a while, then he will show up for a time then disappear. Maybe this one will bring him out. I enjoy reading his posts, most are informative often with a bit of humor.

Never saw an airplane that I didn’t thunk was a beauty. Even gangly looking helicopters.

Prepar3d v5.4 Aircraft Recommendations
Patco Lch replied to AS129 - Michael Johnson's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
Highly highly recommend the FSLabs A320. Since I started simming in 2007 I was one of those not Boeing I ant going dudes. I cut my teeth on the default 737NG in FSX while waiting on the NGX. Since from FSX to P3DV5 I purchased about six NGs between PMDG and IFliy including the MAX. I was a bit intimidated by the difference in the Airbus philosophy until last year I decided to go for it and went about to learn the Airbus. I'm no pilot but the FSlabs seem to feel more like a real aircraft than any other sim bird and I have them all. Very steep learning curve but very satisfying and is a very widely used aircraft all over the world. LOL personally I can't see why any real-world airline pilot with the seniority and company option would prefer a 737 over an A320. The cockpit appears much more comfortable without the pole coming up between your feet with a yoke Infront of your chest, especially with so little hand flying on a modern jet. A lot of automation but by no means set and forget. You have to Baby sit the automation or you will find yourself fighting it. So there's my recomendation for today🙂 -
Enhanced atmospherics but then again that’s more of an eye of the beholder thing. If you’re technically sophisticated enough Rogan has 4.5 looking very good with his tweets and suggestions. I’m not so technical or maybe too lazy might be a more introspectively honest statement.
-
Thanks @Rogen Your input is always knowledgeable and interesting.
-
Hi Luis, I’m just wondering if you missed the enhanced atmospherics when going back to V4? That to me is the main plus to version 5. The way things look out the window but there are many addon related advantages to V4. Also the default vector in version five makes unnecessary the cumbersome ORBX vector with its elevation adjustments needed with addon airports in version 4.

This past weekend I spent another $60 for the FSLabs A319 to my hanger. That’s what I consider a sim upgrade, not something done to the platforms that wrecks everything.

A microcosm of life. -
I’m on V5.4, nevertheless I love your post for all the reasons you stated. Only thing I wouldn’t say either version is antique. Both versions are very modern and relative to many of us.

Seems like the better off folks get materially the more arrogant selfish and crazier. I wonder if part of the problem is people have too much idle time. -

Are you a pilot? -
Now that’s click bait if I’ve ever seen it😂
-
I keep V6 installed just to play around and game on but 5.4 will be where I do my “serious”😎 simming. That’s where my thousands in addons reside and as far as a new P3DV7 or FS2024 or MSFS for that matter I’m too old and too retired (read that poor) to buy all the same stuff ( like PMDG birds) again . Like @Newti said I just don’t want to.

A great addition to tile scenery, especially when jet flying is the city scapes that have appeared on the market by developers such as Alpine Scenery with hand placed custom made autogen buildings. Even ORBX has some. Very nice when on approach your looking at the city as it is. Not a big storage drive hog either and usually inexpensive.Only problem is the limited number available. I wish more would be developed.
