Thanks, J van E for being "on top" - at least in the kind and gentle way you answered my usual hard ways to speak here, don´t know why, too excited about it all maybe? I just do not understand why YOUR fascination with a tiny, tiny part of the world named Norway, should be so important that we all have to go fly there? Could be too crowded, eh?

Ah, thanks Jim Skorna, I was about to jump aboard the DX10 ship, but no thanks, I´ll keep FTX Global! -
We are now in 2013, close to 2014, your "27 years of simming" might actually be the problem..? Really, I respect your experience, but not your opinion on mesh, this is a must have IMO. - and landclass too, and UTX, and, and, you know the drill, right?
-
@sacha: That´s your opinion, you ARE the expert with your sim, not me! Just got tired of all the posts, daily, mostly about the freeware Norway scenery he at the moment is hooked on, and there are issues, many issues. Next month he will be exited about some new stuff, and posting about the problems with that, don´t believe me? Just wait, it´s tiresome, it´s a waste of time, it´s called OCD, Google it...

Agree, and I´m actually quite shocked that J van E - who seems to be on top of everything - still use the default FSX mess/mesh! Who´s the experts here? All the loudmouths bla-bla with every little thing going on with their sim, or me, quietly tugging along with all my Pilot´s mesh, yep, all the new ones, and it´s totally awesome, but I don´t post 5-6 times a day about my FSX, don´t have to, but J van E does, all the time and it´s becoming tiresome because I - and maybe +100K other simmers don´t have his problems. J van E: I appreciate most of your posts and opinions, but you need to get up to date with stuff, or keep silent... It´s not good what you do, it´s very, very confusing. I would use UTX for EU, USA, South America/Caribic, Canada and Alaska, and then try out Vector for the rest of the world, why not?

Hehe! Funny reading all this, maybe we need some special appointed "Sim Counsellors" to help people adjust, move on, or move back, or whatever they may find fit for the special Sim OCD psyche! Gosh, it´s crazy these days...
-
Ok, thanks, noob here, LOL!
-
I feel stupid, dunno what this "secret" is? Thanks to Skorna too, but I don´t know what "X-Graphics" is...

What do you use instead of default?

Is anyone going back to FSX now after 2 days with P3Dv2?

Rockliffe, are you a Zen Master or something? I just have to re-read this old forgotten book: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zen_and_the_Art_of_Motorcycle_Maintenance In an example of the classical approach, Pirsig explains to the reader that one must pay continual attention: when the Narrator and his friends came into Miles City, Montana [3]he notices that the "engine idle is loping a little," a possible indication that the fuel/air mixture is too rich. The next day he is thinking of this as he is going through his ritual to adjust the valves on his cycle's engine. During the adjustment, he notes that both spark plugs are black, confirming a rich mixture. He recognizes that the feel-good-higher-altitude-mountain-air is causing the engine to run rich. New jets are purchased, and installed, and with the valves adjusted, the engine runs well again. With this, the book details two types of personalities: those who are interested mostly in gestalts (romantic viewpoints, such as Zen, focused on being "In the moment", and not on rational analysis), and those who seek to know the details, understand the inner workings, and master the mechanics (classic viewpoints with application of rational analysis, vis-a-vis motorcycle maintenance) and so on. P3D/FSX and Zen, perfect match! -
I don´t care about benchmarks re. FSX, let the nerds do that, and I don´t care about FPS, I passed though that phase, LOL! Smoothness, that´s the issue.. VAS and OOM? Turn down settings, remove add ons, NGX, Aerosoft Amsterdam, (hellhole, useless..) ORBX (some of it) - or do something, maybe run a Vanilla FSX, yeah! I began in 2009 with a HP Pavilion PC with an AMD Phenom 9650 2.3 Ghz Quad, Nvidia GT9600 card, some DDR2 Ram, and I tweaked and tweaked, and got it running, nice, smooth, no problems, how could I do that? Because I did not overload the 32bit Sim!!! Why do people still demand the impossible from this old game, why??

@molleh: Ok, here you go then: "Haswell will outrun SB clock per clock at any CPU speed" http://www.simforums.com/forums/sandybridgee-3970x-vs-haswell-4770k_topic46196.html A pity this expert by the name of NickN is no longer present here, lots of stupidity and hearsay could be avoided.

I find it very, very ironic that the exact "of courses" you mention IMO precisely HAS improved performance, but you say the opposite, any tests/proof to that? Again, an upgrade IS needed, or turn down the settings! http://forum.avsim.net/topic/421968-replacing-i7-930-system/page-2
