  1. I've raised an issue, so hopefully, the Devs of pilot2atc, can get AI traffic and Azure speech synthesis included in the Sim. Feel free to upvote if you think this is useful 😊 https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/offline-atc-improvements/299246
  2. I created a new issue for this topic, either for native implientation or SDK deployment for third party Devs. Hopefully, if it gets enough upvotes we can see some better ATC in Sim https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/offline-atc-improvements/299246
  3. Thanks heaps mate! Hopefully flying this complicated beast more, will help me when i do eventually go for a PPL ;-) I took the ngx for a spin last night, did two manual circuits, one mqnual cat I a semi auto CAT II and a CAT III was a lot of fun, i do agree that it may be an idea to go manual at 1000ft AGL until uve had more practice, as i was going manual during the CAT II at DH (167 FT at the aerodrome) however the challenge was a lot of fun "The only bad question, is the one not asked" ;-)
  4. All good, i beleive it was a misinterpretation of CAAP 257-EX-01 – Approval to conduct low visibility operations and CAAP 257-EX-02 – Conduct of practice autoland operations in that they refered to airlines making specific SOPs for the conduct of autolanding if approved by CASA. External to flight sim so far i have conducted my BAK which has given me an overview of the documentation, however being that this us my first time looking at such documents ive misinterpreted them... All said i have found the CIVIL AVIATION ACT 1988 CIVIL AVIATION REGULATIONS DIRECTION UNDER CAR 215(3) which Operating procedures are to be based off... so i have learnt a fair bit regulatory wise from this All said, i didnt know that a lot came down to manufactures specifications and procedures and that the documentation is dependent on the aircraft used, but that could be as my formal training was quite a while ago now, so thank you for the heads up As for the experience, thats what im trying to develop with touch and goes, even then ive found everyone has a different time and way of flaring, and manual flight, following the same basic principles as outlined by regulations and manufacturers specs. Thank you very much for the help, its much appreciated. .. now for some more touch and goes then step up through each cat ;-)
  5. Thanks very much, that helps a lot! im going to have a good read of the FCOM. That said, the australian regulations seem to rest with the airline, it would be useful to know what a pilot does with respect to each categories procedures. All said, i do know that the AP Does get disconnected at some stage, the question is what stage, ill check the FCOM but if anyone else has some good info as to what procedures even a VA follows that would be great As far as point 2, that makes a lot of sense, and seems like a logical time to disengage AP on CAT 1 or CAT 2, on those approaches im usually using the HGS in IMC mode as it is. CAT 3 i would definitley be leaving it on as tnats what its designed for.... i guess thag my conclusion would be that a CAT 1 or 2 Approach is designed to get the aircraft safely to runway visual distance, then disengage AP... if, the runway is seen, if not its time to hit the TOGA switch and try again, where as cat 3 is a full autoland system
  6. Hi, I am wondering if anyone out there knows the SOP's in Australia (or anywhere else if its an ICAO regulation) for when Auto Pilot is Disengaged in australia on Landing with ILS? Given that most australian Airports are CAT I a few are CAT II and one is CAT III i would like to know when the AP is Disengaged at all, is it; Upon Flare? At DH? Is the Full landing conducted manually? How does this change with the visibility of the airfield? I did discover yesterday that in good visibility the preference is to conduct a CAT I and categories only increase with visiblity, where as ive allways been flying CAT IIIb or IIIc thus far ive looked at regualtions and some VA SOP's and none really answer this question Thanks Heaps!
  7. Hi there, Its been a while, since i have studies aviation law/theory for australia and ILS. I have been working on my flight skills in the PMDG 737 NGX. And i have several questions, as i try to fly as close as possible to real world procedures. General, What is the difference between a CAT A,B,C,D approach and a 1, 2 or 3 approach The way i understand it its a CAT A B C is an IFR approach, and CAT D is visual, A,B,C correllate with 1,2,3 Approaches Australia, How can i read an ILS chart, to determine the correct DH for a Cat 1,2,3 approach? and What are the current autoland regulations in australia (Last i heard was way back in 2007, which stated that there are no australian airports certified for auto landing, So for a CAT 1 Approach, you were to disengate AP at the 200DH. Boeing 737, So that i follow these procedures, how would i go about correctly setting up the 737 NG for a Cat 1,2,3 approach? Currently, the main one i follow, i beleive is from CAT II, being that. I intercept the Beacon, then ILS approach, with LOC/VOR after the G/S is established i will switch to APP, then arm the second auto pilot. I will take the NG In on the approach until 200Ft AGL, Which i generally set as my minimums at all times. After that i will disengage the auto pilot, and land the NG manually. (NOTE: When i am disengaging the AP it will constantly buzz at me, im not sure if i am doing it correctly, when i have seen real world videos, it will only give 2 buzz's then just flash.) Thanks very much for the help. Im sorry if this is the wrong forum. Im still trying to figure out AVSIM forums correctly
  8. Hi there, Just wondering about the communities thoughs about what the dovetail licensing purchase might mean for the future of flight simulation?
  9. Hi there, Just wondering if it is worth purchasing FTX global for use with FTX au, I only ever fly in Australia and I didn't know if it adds any airports/scenery to what already exists in FTX au
  10. Just got an email from PMDG support There will not be any update for the NGX before years end. The team is currently deployed on the 747-400 V2 so any updates to the NGX would be after that project wraps up. Paul Gollnick Technical Support PMDG Simulations, LLC www.precisionmanuals.com
  11. Mate, he is not talking about the NGX :-p he is talking about windows XP. Just had a look at froogle sims review on the 777ER, looks amazing, i am really hoping the NGX will get a SP2 by the end of the year. It would really kick up the realism and compliment some of the great addons from late last year / this year such as active sky next. So here i am waiting for the NGX service pack, and the PRO-ATC-X Update, two updates, that have been really drawn out
  12. BINGO! Found the issue full stop, gear up. Ok, this is for ATI Users only, Turns out its not a user profile problem, but it is a ATI Gaming Evolved problem. I have uploaded a video to youtube here, (Its my first one, so be leanient) All it comes down to, is when your playing FSX, you need to kill off AMD gaming evolved. CLOSE IT ONLY Disabling the game overlay will not work. Ill be contacting ATI, too see if they can release an update, but i dont know how much luck ill get
  13. seems as if it was, the permissions were still set from the OLD PC that i migrated from, this wasnt the first windows based problem i have had, so i just moved my files to the new profield (Which was easy considering they were on another HDD, and started from scratched, ill spend days going mad just to find one damn profile or file thats wrong, so it was just easiest to migrate, Im going to make a youtube video for anyone else that may be experiencing the problem, as the problem is not well documented anywhere that had a solution
  14. Dicovery/lightbulb moment today. I tried running FSX in a different user account. To see if that would fix the kernelbase.dll error. IT DID! so, as i moved my user profile from my old PC to this one, something has gone wrong in the process, i am thinking, i dont know how, as FSX was a fresh install. Perhaps in some hidden dark appdata folder, I have noticed that if i delete the Fsx.cfg folder completely on my user profile app data profile, it makes no difference, yet using a different profile does. Any ideas for a fix, without creating a brand new profile and migrating to that? Thanks heaps, and i hope that this info might help somone else in the future Another thing i noticed, When i launch FSX in my current (Corrupted acct) when FSX is closing it creates another FSX.cfg (Text file) for some god unknown reason and granted rewards, This did not happen in the new account, Still investigating
