  1. Hello All, I am a very new user of ChasePlane. To get to see how it all works I have successfully created a number of 'Presets' for parts of the VC in a simple aircraft - FSX's C172. All seem good and are a huge help in that now I can quickly bring up parts of the VC when required in flight. However most FSX aircraft have 'Pop-Ups' for particular gauges etc that are not part of the main panel eg in the C172 'Shift+3' brings up the GPS. However as the GPS isnt an integral part of the main panel I cant find a way to create a 'Preset' for it using ChasePlane - or could I if I knew how ? Of course I could just use 'Shift+3' but it would be much better if I could create a 'Preset' for it. Can anyone help me please ? Thanks, Mike
  2. To all the guys who responded - thanks. Although I live in Australia I do 99% of my FSX flying in the UK so some sort of cached scenery approach sounds like a real possibility. The download figures I quoted are fairly constant so I am now more optimisitic than I was before. As someone suggested I will do some research in the direction of cached scenery.. Thanks again, M
  3. Thanks, Just done test. Download 25.9 Mbps Upload 4.7 Mbps M
  4. Hello, I have been flying FSX for many years now but I think the time has come for me to get serious about a move to MSFS. But before I take the plunge I think I need a little advice. I dont foresee any hardware issues as I will upgrade just about everything with MSFS in mind. I am however somewhat confused about MSFS scenery. Some while back I understood that MSFS 'streams' scenery 'as you fly'. If this is true then I will have problems with my internet download speeds - which although not too bad at all - are still likely cause some problems. I dont live in a big city but I cant imagine that everybody flying MSFS has super fast internet. So is 'streaming' still the case or is it possible to download MSFS scenery ? Ideally of course I would like to download scenery for the areas in which I fly - which is what I do right now - OrbX plus other stuff. I appreciate the huge size of the downloads but I can cope with that for sure. Any help would be good, thanks, M
  5. Hello All, I dont know whether what I am seeking is possible - but I will ask anyway. I am running dual monitors with FSX on Monitor 1 and LNM Map 'dragged' across to Monitor 2. Both displays are excellent. Although I can now easily 'follow' my FSX flights on LNM on Monitor 2, immediately i want to 'tinker' with something in LNM (eg zoom in on an approach) FSX sound is instantly muted. I know its not a big deal but my question is : is it possible to maintain FSX sound whilst making small changes to LNM during a flight ? Thanks, Mike
  6. Hello Alex, All fixed !!! Your question : "You copied from and to "C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\ABarthel\little_navmap_db", right?" rang some bells in my head. I wrongly assumed that I should copy the "ilttle_nav_map_db" folder from within "LittleNavMap-win32-2.8.9" - NOT from "....AppData etc" Instant fix and now all working on networked laptop. Thanks very much for all your help - I really can now get back to flying, Thanks again, Mike
  7. Hello Alex, Back again. I am certain I have done everything as per the User Guide - but I still have the red 'empty data base' message. The only uncertainty that remains is that you mentioned copying the database 'in the right place'. I copied not just 2 but all the files into the folder 'little_navmap_db' - I assume that was right ? Also I copied over a Flight Plan which showed up OK but of course it couldnt find the waypoints - no database. Finally, main menu 'Scenery Library/Navigraph-AIRAC Cycle 1801' is set to 'Use Navigraph for Navaids and Procedures' in both computers as recommended in User Guide. Am rapidly thinking that maybe I wont network after all and instead get a cheap small second desktop monitor to run side by side with my main monitor. Maybe I will get back to actually flying soon, Mike
  8. Thanks Alex, Its late here now so I will follow up tomorrow on the points that you made. I certainly did not copy the flight plan between the 2 computers so that may well be my problem. Will report back. Mike
  9. Hello All, my first post. I am finding LNM superb but I have one issue which I need a little help with, Am running FSX and I have set up a Networked Laptop with my 'Flying PC' desktop. All appears to be working OK - changes in location of my aircraft immediatly show on the networked laptop, and AI traffic all the same as on Desktop. BUT although a Flight Plan is all good on the Desktop, saved and exported to .PLN OK, loaded in FSX Flight Planner, FP shows on aircraft GPS all OK, the FP does NOT show on the networked laptop. There is a small red box at the bottom of the networked laptop LNM map that says 'Database is empty' although I have copied all database files across from the Flying Desktop. The User Guide is a little quiet on precise location of files/folders. I run FSX on a separate drive 'D' but all LNM files and folders are on C Drive on both computers - I dont know whether that could be an issue - but as I said everything works OK apart from the missing flight plan on the networked Laptop. Any help would be great, Thanks, Mike
  10. Hello All, Does anyone know whether its possible to store flight plans in the Universal FMC and then load a particular one when required ? It's possible in many other FMCs but I cant find how to do it in the Universal. Thanks Mike
  11. Hi Guys, Did anyone manage to make any progress in getting their hands on the Baron 58 mods ? Am asking bbecause I have just bought the Baron, Great aircraft but the GNS 430 is a massive disappointment. I dont mind a 'cut down' version but the Caranado 430 really is short of some very basic functions. Any help would be great. thanks Mike
  12. Hello All, I have run into a small problem when using my Garmin 530 in my Dornier Do228 (FSX). Understandably there seems to be isolated instances of some of the Garmin 530 data now being clearly out of date. For example EGMD (Lydd) now has 2 ILS 'equipped' runways (5 and 23) yet Garmin's 530 RWY 5 has no ILS at all - RWY 23 is OK Excuse my ignorance on the subject but is it possible to update the 530's database ? Or failing that is it possible to swap the 530 for a more up to date GPS ? Of course if neither is possible then it certainly is not the end of the world ! Has anyone any thoughts on this ? Thanks. Mike
  13. Hello All, I have been using Simbrief for a while - no problems. Simbrief has always automatically downloaded Plans into my Aerosoft A320 FMS as a co-route. In my set up the A320 looks for Plans in c:users/username/OneDrive/Documents/Aerosoft/Airbus/FlightPlans. I dont know where this 'address' originates from but it has always worked ! FSX is running on a separate hard drive. I am unsure how 'OneDrive' fits in. Now I am finding the Plans are going into 'downloads' just like any other downloaded files ! Sure I can copy the plan across to where they used to go, I seem to remember Simbrief should download FPs as a .pln BUT it is now downloading as a .flp. Now I really dont know what has happened - have I corrupted Simbrief somehow ? How does the A320 know where to search for FPs ? As it all used to happen seamlessly I am seeking some help. Any help ? Comments etc etc. Thanks, Mike
  14. Thanks Jason, The AivlaSoft EFB software has 2 parts - one part is the 'Server' that acts as an 'intermediary' that sits between the Sim and the second part of the software which is the 'Client'. It is this second part that is where the 'user' does all the planning all the planning plus lots more. There is an option to run the 'Server' and Sim on the same PC [much simpler but really needs 2 monitors] and the Client on 'another' separate PC - which is I want to do. My problem is that AivlaSoft dont really address the networking nuts and bolts of making the separate PC option happen. Thanks anyway, Mike
