  1. Installation complete. Once again thanks for the help and sorry for barging in. PS and FYI, I wasn't assuming that someone jumping in , was doing so with a solution as it were. Rather the spirit of my thought, was that they were adding to the fabric of the conversation that would collectively triangulate to find a solution. For myself, I'm fine with that.....however, understanding that I need to respect that someone else will find that a diversion. On that note, thank you for diverting your attention. I will respect proper boundaries from this point on.. Best Regards, Tom S.
  2. Understood. I will leave this post for the original requester. For the record, I wouldn't mind if someone jumped into my thread if it added to the conversation and helped provide a constructive solution. That said, I will respect that not everyone would feel the same way; and will behave accordingly. I'm un-istalling 400 now and will re-install per your recommendation. Best Regards, Tom S.
  3. Thank you for the info; and my apologies for "hijacking" a post. This certainly wasn't my intent; and any semblance of a lack of courtesy was completely unintentional as well. Admittedly, I have difficulty following protocol with AVSIM. At one moment I've been scolded for starting a new thread when the topic was started by someone else. And now I've been scolded for hijacking this post....where I thought I was following established protocol. At any rate, you point is taken and I will happily start my own question with future questions/issues. With Best Regards, Tom S.
  4. I'm Having an install issue. A pop up window said I needed to download the latest update for v3. Per the pop up instruction, I went to the Operations Center to check, and sure enough there's a recent update. I clicked on the install button, and it seemed to update (Rather rapidly I will add...almost in a flash). I then went to install the expansion pack and gave me the same message. I reopened the operations center and the same update notification was still there. Anyone else experience this. Any suggestions.? Thanks, Tom
  5. Thanks Captain Kevin! I was going in that direction last night; then saw the Navigraph forum on the topic. Installing to a temp directory then moving to the appropriate location makes sense. That's definitely a good back up plan if this issue happens again.
  6. Thank You Peter! I checked out the Navigraph forum. Apparently they made a change to the addon mapping. I deleted the old mapping added the new one, re-ran the current AIRAC update, and there you have it. Easy enough. Thanks for the direction. Tom Schneider
  7. Hello, I searched your forum to see if someone else has reported this issue. If so please direct me to that topic. I just updated my NAV Data the other day. I get my updates through Navigraph. They'll send me an email that the next AIRAC is available. I download the update for my PMDG product. At that point the next time I fire up FSX and load a PMDG product ( in this case the 747 Queen of the skies II) the FMC will list the current AIRAC ( 1806) on the Ident Page. I loaded the PMDG 747 today, and the previous AIRAC was showing in the Ident page and the message in the scratch pad said: "NAV DATA OUT OF DATE". Has anyone else experienced this issue, and if so, what is the fix. You help is appreciated, Regards, Tom Schneider
  8. Nevermind.....discovered the issue. Somehow my dll files were missing from the fsx folder in appdata. copied the dlls back into the folder and there you have it....
  9. Hello, I haven't flown FSX in a few months. Just returning, I selected one of my PDMG 747-400s and this error message "pmdg_747400_main.dll cannot find pmdgooptions.dll" popped up. When I clicked OK FSX went into a fatal error and restarted. I did a search on this topic and didn't find anything. Is there an existing thread on this issue? And if so, can someone point me to it. Or...is there a simple solution to this issue? Thanks in advance for some help. PS.....I can select other add-on aircraft. The issue seems to be with PMDG Tom S.
  10. Hi Mark, Thanks for the feedback. All the texture folders seem to be in order and references back accordingly. Below is the texture.cfg code for the TEXTURE folder in the 747-400: [fltsim] fallback.1=..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture fallback.2=..\..\..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture fallback.3=..\texture.f I noticed with some of my repaints in the -400 that the "..\texture.f" line is the fallback.1 and vice versa. I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the 400F textures referencing back. PS....keep in mind, I have no problems with my -400 repaints. They all show up in FSX. I'm only having problems seeing the -400F repaints and house liveries of PMDG. Thanks, Tom S
  11. Thanks again Pete, Unfortunately, My computer only has one internal storage device, and I didn't partition the drive. Oh well....I will soldier on with finding a solution. The 747-400 passenger version is working fine otherwise. Regards, Tom S.
  12. Hi Pete, Thanks for the feedback. My user account is also the admin account with admin rights. So no problem there. I am curious, as opposed to "the default location" for the install (which I'm assuming I have done since I didn't select a specific location), what or where would be a better location for installing addons. Just curious. Thanks again, Tom S.
  13. Hi Peter, I'm not entirely sure what you mean here. What is "UAC" and where do I turn it off. Also, I'm not having problems with PMDG 747-400 and any of the repaints I installed. I'm just having problems with seeing the 400F version (ie default PMDG 400F aircraft as well as the UPS repaint). As for installing FSX in the default location, Is there a better place to install it other than what Microsoft suggests during the install? Thanks, Tom S.
  14. Thanks for the feedback Mark. I made the change; unfortunately it didn't make any difference. Interestingly the other texture files (ie texture.RRF, texture.PWF and texture.UPS_HD) have the .cfg that you posted. I thought this would have been the answer. Alas, it was not. I did note in the 747-400 folder; among all the repaint textures I've added; were texture.RR and texture.PW. But there is not texture.GE file. There is a "texture" file which is the master texture file. Do I assume that "GE" is the default file and the the 400F texture files "fallback.1" is this file? Or should there be a texture.GE file in the 747-400 file as well? Perhaps the texture code in the 400F is referring back to a non-existing folder? Your thoughts? Thanks, Tom S.
  15. Hi Mark, The Texture.cfg is present in all Texture folders. Below is the code in the Texture.GEF for instance. [fltsim] fallback.1=..\..\PMDG747-400\texture fallback.2=..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture fallback.3=..\..\..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture I am perplexed. Tom S.
