Secret Project #1: This one is a classic!

I've got zero interest in these types of planes... when will we see the "PMDG Corporate Jet" lineup?I wish the team well for the development cycle anyway!

I really enjoy the Eaglesoft corporate jet creations but i agree with your thoughts as to PMDG producing a corporate jet 100%.
ES's are decent but showing their age imho. I'd be happy with an older Hawker, Falcon etc. Some of the glass on corp jets these days are more advanced than airliners hehe.

This is beyond stunning. Thrilled to hear about it. Hope it's the first of many. Like others, I'll hope for an Accusim module. Failing that, I'd hope for FS2Crew or an equivalent. Otherwise the workload is huge. I'd never be able to manage the Stratocruiser without COTS and its virtual flight engineer - I know others can and did for years before COTS but that's more than I can cope with. But whatever is featured, I'll have my credit card ready and idling, waiting for the oil temps to come up...

I feel compelled to comment after seeing this post!As an ATC, I am stationed at the airport in Windhoek where this exact DC-6B resides. Reg: V5-NCG. (Will put the Nikon to the test for some pics this week...)And oh what a joy it is to hear her applying full piston power taking off out of the hot and high airfield, combined with the not very generous 1975m runway at FYWE.Well done PMDG! With Henning's assignment you were practically lurking right in my own backyard, without me even getting a whiff! (Had I known I would have demanded some top-secret ngx info)Project well concealed. Good luck to you! You've got my support on this one.Regards.M. Mannetti

Ryan-Never...Your standard corporate jet today would require the same level of development investment as the airliners. The market for them is far too small to support that level of development investment. When we product non-airliner projects, they are things that we do to keep otherwise-idled members of the team productive- so we aren't necessarily looking for a 20,000hr project. We're looking for something fun, different, and entertaining. And we really aren't all that interested in bizjets anyway... There are plenty of others tinkering around in that market- so i hope they can meet your needs!

Or perhaps a business turboprop like the new Beech 250 (replaces the 200 - great overall performance - with avionics like a Proline 21 now that would be outstanding).Dave in Winnipeg

You mentioned a Garmin gps.....a model was not mentioned but should it be the 400 or 500 is there any chance it could be up to the level of Reality xp?All the best,Dave in Winnipeg
Dave-You caught me. Since I'm not involved in this project- I'm guessing here- but I believe it is a 430 up there just aft of the center post. I'm not all that garmin enabled...It is fully functioning- and I believe that users of the RXP stuff can swap that in also if desired... but don't quote me on that.As I said- I'm not anywhere near this project- I'm over in 777 and NGX land still!

The DC-6 is part of an age of aircraft that seems to be the most ignored, unappreciated aircraft in third party developers. I find that irritating, as this same age of aircraft are some of the most appreciated and loved by real world aviation fans. The era of the DC-6 is one which is romanticized the most frequently in books, movies, shows, and aviation enthusiasts imaginations (specifically those who love passenger airliners). I think it's exciting and fitting that one of the top quality add on developers is showing some love for this era and one of it's most influential and iconic aircraft. This aircraft and a few others are the only aircraft that when viewed, bring on a strong sense of nostalgia.THANK YOU, PMDG!On a side note: I mentioned the DC-6 as one of the aircraft I would love PMDG to produce most in a popular "wish list" post in here, so I may be a bit biased.

How similar is the DC-7 to the DC-6? Could it ever be a expansion or would that be almost identical to making a totally new airplane? There is also a very nice flyable DC-7. ;)

Just to be clear, there's a difference between a failures model and a consequences model, right?Like the JS4100 will punish you for operating the engines improperly (what I'd define as a consequences model); but isn't set up where you can toggle failures, or set wear items, etc (what I'd define a failures model).

And we really aren't all that interested in bizjets anyway... There are plenty of others tinkering around in that market- so i hope they can meet your needs!
None that live up to par (at least in my eyes), unfortunately. There was a King Air a while back for FS9 that held my interest, but most of the business jets out there don't live up to the quality I'd like. It's disappointing, but I can see your point as to why it wouldn't be done.

So I take it that that pretty much rules out a full on 707 from PMDG. Ah well, I'll still be buying anything that emerges out of your hangers....Capt. Rónán O Cadhain.

They're close siblings. The engines are very different, as is fuel capacity IIRC. Edited by ZachLW
